Barnacles Fish & Chips in Bournemouth

Been several times and the fish n chips is crisp n dry, what more do you want, lovely!

Great chips and nice fish cooked whilst you wait. Staff efficient and pleasant. Cannot fault this chip shop.

Im not usually the biggest fan of fish and chips, I very occasionally have it. However, my partner loves it and we came down to Bournemouth so it was only right to try some fish and chips I suppose. My goodness, Barnacles did not disappoint! The fish was so crispy on the outside yet beautifully cooked on the inside. We ate the fish and chips around 15 minutes after we got it as we wanted to wait until we got back to our hotel and to be honest, most chips aren't at their prime at that point but I still really enjoyed them! The fish however kept its perfect crunch throughout the car journey, very impressed!

My favourite fish and chip shop in the Winton/Moordown area. Cheaper than others nearby and always fresh and tasty chips, cod, pea fritters and battered sausages. Their Savaloy could be better though. Quick and friendly service too.

I checked Barnacles out whilst visiting Bournemouth for the day. It was a couple of miles from the seafront but had excellent reviews. It was absolutely worth it. Fantastic. I ate some of the meal there and finished the rest the next day in London. I wished I'd bought two portions. If you go to Bournemouth go to Barnacles. It should be a feature in their tourist information guide. Excellent.

This is actually not what I would describe as our local, but I'll be honest, I wish it was! Delicious, freshly battered fish, perfectly cooked, chunky chips, crisply battered, tasty sausage and extraordinary pea fritter!Lovely, polite, family service, and good value too.Worth the 5-10 minute drive from Charminster any time!5*

Really impressed - I used google to find ‘best fish and chips Bournemouth’ and Barnacles was listed first so we thought we would try them.Friendly staff and excellent portions - the chips are nice and chunky. The fish was cooked perfectly (we had cod) and the batter had a really good flavour. They are boxed rather than just in paper so we could drive to the seaside and enjoy them there.Overall really impressed and would certainly recommend!

I know it's quite busy on friday evening but that's no excuse of serving awful fish. Half of it was empty,hard as a brick,entirely put me off. Will never use again. Staff are friendly tho but at the end of the day I want good food.
