Amazing in every sense. Super fresh and tasty fish, fluffy chips not greasy. Very attentive service and perfect gifts to keep the kids occupied.Was recommended by a friend when we were in the area and we were glad we chose it. Little wait for a table but so worth it. Don't be put off by the queue, it's a good sign!We'll definitely be back.

Great takeaway and dine in we have been coming to for 12+ years. The crispiest best batter on the generous sized fish. Fantastic scampi. I recommend the bread roll which is actually half a small crusty baguette and is delicious (they provide a pat of butter). Also their delicious tartar sauce is home made. They do a gluten free night (Mondays I think) so a good night to buy if you have gf needs.

What can i say? The lunchtime special is perfectly cooked cod and chips for a tenner with a pot of tea or coffee thrown in for free...and mushy peas too! Great value for money, amazing service from excellent staff, everything very clean and also unhurried. Also check out the specials for freshly caught local stuff. Well done to all the team, and thanks!

This is by far one of my favourite places for Fish & Chips; it's rare that there's never a queue outside which goes to show how popular it is amongst visitors and locals.Staff are warm and friendly and the restaurant atmosphere is relaxed, welcoming and well decorated.As for the food, the photos speak for themselves; fish batter delicate and light and chips delicious and fluffy.Service was top notch; we set off early from Gloucestershire to make sure we didn't miss lunch service on new year's eve!If you're in the area Chez Fred is definitely worth the visit (and wait) - also accepts Blue Light Card.

Dining in this fish chips shop with friends before covid. Ordered cod and haddock with my girl, waiting for 15-20 mins to have all food ready. Batter is not crispy and regular cod £8.50 is a bit small but everything is alright!

Had the most amazing meal here with my son. Fish and chips for him. Scampi and chips with mushy peas for me. Perfectly cooked. No complaints whatsoever. The service was fabulous too. Polite and very attentive staff. I highly recommend Chez Fred and I'm looking forward to another visit soon.

amazing food, amazing service, beautiful decor! had the cornish hake and it was excellent and flakey, batter is tender and crispy, not too greasy. it has been my favourite chippy in the UK thus far.

The best fish&chips ever tried. If you come to Bournemouth or nearby can’t skip this place. Definitely a must to put in your bucket list

We visited her 20+ years ago, & it's not changed 1 bit, food is hot tasty and a great atmosphere. Highly recommend if you like your fish & chips. They also offer Unlimited Chips!

The best cod and chips I tasted . Batter was crisp and thin, fish was super fresh. Service was first class, all the staff was super polite and friendly. We went on a Tuesday afternoon, didn't have to wait for a table. The deco was traditional and very clean. The wife and I will definitely eat there again when we visit Bournemouth.
