Having just stayed at the Hinton for 5 nights during a course I found the stay to be practical for my needs.Andy, the manager, is one of the friendliest people I've met and was almost always on hand to answer any questions. He even went out of his way to open the restaurant area and check there was adequate lighting for myself and two other people who were also staying to continue some late night training when our course had finished for the day.Now. A few reviewers have mentioned the "state" of the hotel and I think some of the points were valid. The hotel could do with refurbishment in areas and the facilities (due to just coming out of Covid regulations I imagine) were not top level.I did have a few bleach stains on the carpet, a slight bubble in some wallpaper and a missing door handle on the wardrobe - but when you're paying £28 a night what do you expect? The hotel is old! However, at no point during my stay did I feel "unsafe", "misguided" by representation or that I was in a "dirty" hotel. There was a fair bit of noise Friday night from children staying in the hotel but you would expect low level noise anywhere you stayed I imagine and there is a lot of foot traffic at night. That said, for me it came down to these things...Clean, comfortable bed. Check.Clean shower. Check.Clean toilet. Check.Kettle. Check.Television (with some freeview - some channels just couldn't get a reception). Check.WiFi. Check.Easy access to the course I was doing. Check.I have only done 4/5 stars because, and I think even the management and owners will agree there are some areas for improvement.

Very friendly family run business. Clean and tidy room with a very comfortable bed. Looking forward to visiting again.

The staff here are wonderful! I have stayed here a few times and yes the hotel does need an update but.. it is exceptionally clean and very comfortable. Fantastic location 🙏

Very clean and convenient for the beach. Have stayed here 3 times in the past when fully open, bar, swimming pool and restaurant closed due to COVID difficulty sWill be great when fully open again, mind you would stop here again, if they were not.

Been offered a room with 3 single beds that was a nice surprise when got to the door and went in.The actual booking was for a room with a double and a single bed, so as we were three adults, it had exceeded expectations. It’s true that the hotel does not look as its best and needs lot of work done to get it to high standards but this review it’s not about that. It’s about the room that was clean with fresh bedsheets, a handy mini fridge and a tv with a functional remote control.Decent bathroom with enough toiletries.Super fast check in and check out with all vital info provided. It also has a lift for people less able to venture on stairs, so a plus added to it.Needless to say that if supreme comfort is desired, maybe it’s not for all but for us has been a respectable one night stay that ticked the right boxes.

last minute booking we decided to stay as it was close to the beach and honestly cheapest we could find. 2 adults 2 children we had 3 single beds (2 pushed together) comfortable beds, clean, and the room was lacking decoration but did not affect our stay what so ever and the staff was very welcoming. we actually left a bag of important keys behind (stupid partner) and we had an email literally 1 hour after and they kindly posted them back for free so thank you very much for that. would definitely stop here again

Very good customer service experience. This hotel has wonderful surroundings.Obviously due to the effects of the pandemic, not all facilities were up and running. Like food and bar. etc...It's very ear the sea front. ( once things settle, I believe that it will be a very good place to stay for anyone staying in Bournemouth)

Greeted by a lovely man who checked us in. We were quickly disappointed in how shabby the room was. I think shabby might be an understatement. We probably should have asked to be moved, but I suspect the rest of the hotel wasn't any better. Bed was however comfortable. Found hairs in the bath and a "present" on the loo seat.

We had a good night sleep after a very long trip down. The General Manager was exceptionally helpful and welcoming. We particularly liked the location and morning walk on the Prom

The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. 3 stars possibly 20 years ago, it would struggle for 1 star now. The toilet was cleaner than the shower. Pubic hair everywhere. Booked for 2 adults and 2 children but room only has a double and single bed?? Very dirty, very run down even if I was homeless I would consider other options first. Wished I had read other reviews first, but was rushed and just looked at the supplied photos. I don’t often do reviews but I couldn’t let this slide. Very disappointed. I read the owners response to other reviews justifying the conditions in relation to price and location, it looks like hospitality isn’t really your passion because this is a terrible experience and you should aim higher.
