Miya Japanese Restaurant in Bournemouth

This is what happens when a restaurant manager/staff/chefs get it right. We hadn't booked but the staff went the extra mile and we got a table. I am so glad we did as the food is simply amazing. Completely freshly cooked and taste was superb. Our waitress was patient and helpful and deserved our tip. I can recommend this restaurant as the one of the best I have ever been to.

The food was delicious and the staff were great. Unfortunately, the way the food came out was very random. Main food before starters, way over an hour for my food, rice came out after the hot dish, which meant the hot dish was then cold. That said, I would go back and rather than choosing individual meals, choose dishes to share and I think this would sort the problem out. It is only a very small kitchen and all the food is cooked fresh, so worth another go for sure. One of our party was Japensese and he was suitably impressed with the food!

Well presented, super clean and modern restaurant. Service was great. Good portion, ingredients were fresh, good value for money. Definitely one of the best in the areas. Highly recommended if you like Japanese cuisine.

Sushi was mediocre, party of 3 and one person had to wait 40 mins extra for their food, the place was not busy. We had ice cream for dessert which had ice crystals in, clearly refrozen after melting. Server was sick and kept rushing to bathroom. All in all not pleasant experience.

Really lovely experience. All the staff were welcoming, knowledgeable and friendly. Even though we were unavoidably delayed, they were just grateful we had phoned ahead to let them know..and were still able to accommodate us. The food was sublime and beautifully presented. Open kitchen and modern, inviting decor. Will definitely be returning.

Absolutely unreal food I now wouldn’t go anywhere else! Make sure you book a table in advance as they are always packed which is ofcourse a sign of a great place. My favourite restaurant never ever disappoints.

We have eaten here a few times. The food is of excellent quality and the menu variety is great. However, last time we ate here we ordered an appetiser, main and side dish. The side dish came out first, then the mains but the appetiser never arrived. In the end we just cancelled the appetiser. Seemed disappointing considering an appetiser should come out first. So felt can only give 3 stars this time.

We booked it few days in advance and when arrived they said we have two and a half hours for our meal. They also reminded us about the time while we were still eating. This was very annoying and spoiled the experience as they didn’t mention anything when we did our booking. Overall the food was delicious, nicely presented.

This place has such a lovely feel, setting and ambience. We went there tonight for the first time, we had not booked a table and we soon noticed we were lucky to get one.The food was absolutely AMAZING! Best sushi I have ever tried, nice pace of plate delivery and good presentation. Staff were lovely too, recommended some dishes.Overall, amazing food.
