Best food and restaurant in Dorset in my opinion, London quality without being pretentious! It's rare to have a tasting menu where each dish was exceptional; from the chickpea paté to start, all the way to the modern take on a black forest dessert. We'll be back!

I am so glad I chose to have my 21st birthday meal here.I tried the 8 course lunch tasting menu, nice Prosecco, fresh mint tea and the watermelon cocktail. They were all exceptional. I strongly recommend the watermelon cocktail.Incredible value for money. This was worth every penny.The culinary journey you go on with the tasting menu is simply amazing. I cannot believe such a high quality restaurant exists in this rural area of the world.I don’t have the vocabulary to accurately describe how exceptional the food was. I am a huge fan of the tasting menu format as it means you try different foods you otherwise would not go for. I am so happy about all the new ingredients and combinations I tried.The staff were obviously incredibly knowledgable and had a great rich history in the culinary experience world. The chef was very charismatic and his passion really came through in his work. The server was wonderful and clearly had a lot of experience in his job. Two really wonderful people who helped make this experience so wonderful.

This restaurant never fails to impress- we are very lucky to live within walking distance from it.A special occasion experience for us as it’s expensive but honestly worth every penny.It’s fine dining in Southbourne near Bournemouth offering tasting menus- an unusual spot for such high quality food. If you are in London, make the journey - you won’t be disappointed.

Incredible food, amazing waiter and lovely little dining room. Very reasonably priced. The staff couldn't do enough for us, were happy to add extras or swap things around at essentially no extra cost. I couldn't have been happier with mine and my partners experience. 10/10 we will be visiting again.

Such a fantastic experience. Small family run place who were masters of customer service. Had the discovery menu which was a 10 course tasting menu and enjoyed every bit of it!

Fabulous place for a long weekend lunch. Food and service faultless. Would highly recommend. It's all about the food!

First date night in 2 years 🎉 ❤We were so right to choose Roots as our destination for our romantic meal two weeks ago. We chose the 10 course taster menu and were taken again on a taste bud surprise sensation! The service was first class. The chef continues to prepare unique flavours using fresh and contrasting foods....we will definitely return again very soon for a deserved treatJuly 2021Well we made it back here again after lockdown. No surprises the booking for last night was made several months ago; book ahead as this place is gaining notoriety and becoming ever popular and known! The intimate setting has been refurbed and looks even more classy and stylish. Clever tablet device set on the table which customers can refer to through the night to look at menu details. The photos I took did not do justice to the amazing flavours and clever twists chef has applied to the taster dishes. He is in a league of his own and deserves the accolades of michelin recognition. The watermelon starter was such a sensory surprise and sweetcorn accompaniment also full of flavour. The melon dish was so well thought out and refreshing after the sumptuouslyrich beef. Service and staff rapport remains faultless. Great night again for two very satisfied returning customers!

We had the "Classic" tasting menu & wine flight. It was quite simply, delicious. I've been to a number of 1* Michelin restaurants that weren't this good. Such a great restaurant. Looking forward to returning and trying the bigger tasting menu.

Best place I've eaten in Bournemouth, well worth the money! Went for my mum's birthday. Staff couldn't be more helpful, kind and knowledgeable. The vegetarian menu was outstanding. An amazing mixture of flavors, and I will definitely be going back to try the dinner menu. I simply cannot recommend this enough.
