Romanzo Greek Taverna in Bournemouth

Romanzo’s Greek Taverna is on the main road through Westbourne - which is itself a quaint olde-worlde “village” to the west of (surprise, surprise) Bournemouth. Effectively a small town on its own, Westbourne is a marvellous mixture of independent shops, interesting eateries and a Victorian arcade that boasts the smallest cinema in England - but we’re here for the food, so no more digressions… The Greek taverna is usually full (closed on Mondays), which is a good sign. Their liver is lovely (no fava beans & chianti jokes please) and the pork fillet is very tasty with fresh vegetables and great gravy.If you’ve spent time in your previous military career around Akrotiri in Cyprus, you’ll have tasted many of the labels on Romanzo’s wine list - though at significantly lower prices when consumed in-country - but a glass of Aphrodite during the meal - or Commanderia afterwards - will bring the memories flooding back.All in all, a lovely local place for dinner, with friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. 9/10.

Went last night for dinner and I'm still full. No need for lunch today that's for sure! The meze platter, for the price, is such good value for money - you get given so much food!Would love to go back after I get over my food coma.

Dined at this Restaurant a few times and never disappointed. I do not live locally but a visit to Bournemouth would not be complete without a meal at Romanzo. Great family atmosphere. Felt very Covid safe .

One of the best, and more authentic restaurant in the area. Very friendly staff, inviting atmosphere and fantastically tasting food, and if enjoy a good desert you won't be disappointed. Definitely recommend.

I have been coming here for about 10 years and have ALWAYS had great food and a super experience- Momma and her team are fabulous and make you feel I incredibly welcome. It's quite a small space but you never feel crammed in, early booking is advised ad they get very busy. The meze is incredible- just don't each lunch first. Highly recommended 12 out of 10! Every table was full pretty much all evening during our visit here which says a lot! All the food is cooked from scratch and was all delicious. I'm very fussy about my roast potatoes and they were superb! Great selection of desserts too. Would strongly recommend a visit here.
