Spyglass & Kettle in Bournemouth

Lovely food, and barman was super friendly. Our waitress however seemed like she’d rather be anywhere else. We had to ask for our order to be taken after waiting for 15 minutes and it seemed like a nuisance to her. She was unfriendly and quite frankly rude. The food came in a fair amount of time but our plates were never cleared away after we were finished. We weren’t offered dessert menus or another round of drinks and when I asked for the bill she huffed. It then took another 15 mins for the bill to come. It wasn’t a particularly busy day and we were being friendly. I’ve worked as a waitress before in a very busy restaurant and it takes no effort to be friendly and just not rude! Our waitress really ruined our whole experiences and made us feel uncomfortable which is such a shame because the pub is lovely and the food was delicious as well.

Fabulous place visited yesterday with dog to shelter from the rain before booking into the b&b. Staff amazing in this place, manager/brewery listen up give them a payrise if you havent already they are a credit to you and your establishment they loved Dexter Dog gave him treats and water. The Guinness was very nice as well. A gem of a place!!

The spyglass and kettle is in a great location on the clifftop in southbourne and they make the most of this with a conservatory dining area which is very nice, although a little cool on a winter's evening. We were there on a saturday and it was busy, with staff somewhat overstretched. Our meal was fine which was probably a good thing as I dont think they would gave coped well with any issues or additional requests.However, for reasonable pub food and a good evening, it is worth a visit.

Me and my girlfriend paid less than 25£ together (with AA card discount) for a shared starter and 2 pub classics (on a Monday) and 2 softails. Literally can't complain, food was great, drinks good too. Atmosphere was nice, busy as they were having an event or something. Anyways, recommended if you're hungry and humble like me

It's a cute place to have lunch and a drink. Mostly busy and they have a nice big garden with a view to the ocean in summertime. Cuisine is really good, food is always great. I really do like this place. Nice people serving too.

Brilliant mini break . The beach is a two minute walk and stunning. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Great food , breakfast is brilliant value and the evening meals are awesome

Have had a lovely long weekend at the Spyglass and Kettle in Southbourne.Amazing location,easy access to surrounding areas plus a bus into Bournemouth takes minutes.Southbourne beach is stunning and this place is right on it.Best part was the team here....GrahamJordanAmandaEmilyJasonTo name a few.If you need a great place to stay with direct access to everything this is it.

Lovely food. Restaurant was nice and staff polite / friendly

We stayed for 3 night at this nice inn. The beach is across the road and our room was nice and clean and comfortable. All the staff were friendly and helpful the food was good and the gin and tonic is nice and cheap. Would stay again Southbourne is a really nice little town.

Visited this place as my friend and myself have booked a weekend break in October..so thought we would pop down and see what it was like and check out the area as we both have dogs..we sat outside and were greeted by a lovely guy who immediately asked if we wanted water for the Dogs as it was a hot day..excellent we both had a main and a dessert and sausages for the dogs..great food great service can't wait to go and stY now 😀 so photos from our visit.
