Sukhothai Restaurant in Bournemouth

Absolutely amazing Thai food. I had the pepper crab. One thing – I'd advise actually going rather than taking delivery, because sadly it comes in plastic. But this seems to be one of those cases where the 3.9 review score indicates an amazing local restaurant someone is gunning after.

Travelled down from London for the week, came across this little gem by accident.This is the best Thai food I've ever had, the owner was very attentive and hospitable.The food was cooked to perfection and fresh. Such a shame it is so far away as I would happily make this place a regular visit. 10/10 in all fields!

Two very poor Thai curries arrived that were ordered last night. Absolutely no flavour whatsoever and not a Thai curry packed full of flavour as expected. A very disappointing date night indoors meal. Go buy some spices!

Ordered a chicken thai green curry and beef jungle curry, which was quite a struggle as the man on the end of the phone was rude and utterly incompetent. Both currys were disgustingly watery, devoid of any flavour or spice and the beef tasted like cardboard. The portion of rice we received was pathetic also. The only positives were the prawn crackers and a delivery time better than what was quoted.Whilst living in Bournemouth I have had some truly terrible takeaways, but this was by far the worst. How anyone with eyes and at least 4 fingers can make food that badly is beyond me. Wouldn’t recommend this hell hole to my worst enemy!

Unfortunately not good. Hugely overpriced, very low turnover meaning no fresh food. I think it may have been popular some years ago now well into decline. Sad. Food all covered in sugar/syrup. We were the only customers on a Friday night and it seemed they just couldn't be bothered. Maybe it relies on it's takeaways to keep going of which there are mixed reviews. My preference is always to eat at an independent but I can eat at Wagamama for half the price and good quality. Real shame. The starter in the picture cost £19, as far as I could tell it was bulk bought frozen food deep fried 😕.

Service excellent. Very quick to address an issue over food spice strength which should have been spicy hot. Very accommodating and pleasant. Would recommend a visit and asking for extra spice or chilli if you like your Thai jungle curry hot and spicy like me.

My Partner and I have just discovered this superb hidden gem , We're just awaiting Our desserts on Our second visit in one week. WHY IS IT EMPTY apart from Us again?!!! Food is divine , very subtle and easy on the palate ,Service exceptional. Well worth a visit .

The best Thai food in Bournemouth, the food is authentic and tastes fantastic. I recommend the jungle curry if you like it hot, I asked for extra chilli, although when I first did this the chef came to ask me if I was sure, when I said yes she left smiling shaking her head. When I phone they know it's me and I don't even need to state my order they remember, and ask if I'd like to add anything. Great service from really nice genuine people.

Always wonderful and authentic Thai food served and prepared by Thai people. The stuffed Chicken wings are fabulous, as is the Penang Duck curry. Wonderful Thai pancakes, either Pork or Vegetarian. Great chilli Prawns and Squid. All wonderful. Yes the portions are not huge but typical Thai and the prices are ridiculously cheap. I return again and again. A wonderful local find. Do try it. And they do takeaway. Eat it Thai style though for the best experience, order a few dishes and share them. None of this eat one dish each type of thing. Fabulous Thai.

I've eaten quite a lot of Thai food in my time and this is certainly one of the best I've been to.I was a little worried when we went the first time, as no one ever seems to be in the restaurant, which isn't usually a good sign. My girlfriend and I gave it a shot though and are very happy we took the risk! We've been back numerous times now and have received a warm welcome from the staff and the same excellent food.I'd definitely recommend going, I'm unsure why it's empty. I've only recently moved to Bournemouth and perhaps people here don't like Thai.
