Taj Mahal in Bournemouth

Very hard to say a bad thing about this place. The food and service was on point. Really lovely meal for all 10 of us.

Went through a period when it seemed to be living off past glories but has upped its game thankfully.Westbourne is great for Indian restaurants so it's good to see the Taj back on form.

The food was not fresh, not tasty and they used the same base for all four different dishes which we ordered. To pay in excess of £100 for this meal is just adding insult to injury. This was not an authentic Indian meal- this was a lazy attempt to disguise the restaurants contempt of customers who want to dine there. If you want a good restaurant that prides itself on good food, then NEVER go to the Taj Mahal in Westbourne.

I'd love to be able to give a glowing review, but unfortunately I can't. Some of our dishes were lovely whilst others were sadly mediocre at best. Staff were attentive and friendly.Establishment looking jaded, tired and in need of a makeover, especially the ladies loos, they frankly, are disgraceful. Whilst clean they are in very poor repair and when a gal parks her arse on a loo, the very least she should feel is secure!!! Would I return? I think not....😔

Just had a chicken jalfrezi today. Garlic chili one with naan bread. Everything was lovely. Excellent! Mr burns rubbing his hands. The food was nice hot but not to hot. Just it my teaser. Love it.

A lovely traditional Indian restaurant with decors, artwork and seating to match visiting an Indian. Very spacious place with lots of tables well spaced out. The staff were very friendly. Drinks came quickly as expected, followed by starters and main course. The starters were hot and tasty. We ordered chicken tikka, chicken chaat, mix kebab and chicken tandoori it tasted lovely. For mains we ordered 2x prawn jalfrezi, chicken and meat bouna and requested them to be a little hot for our deshi palette. The prawn was very tasty and its sauce was really delicious and so was the chicken curry. The meat was ok but not to everyone liking but you cant please everyone with taste. Price was as expected with mint chocs at the end with wet wipes as expected. Manager was friendly conversing with us about our home town etc. Thank you to manager, staff and chef was a lovely evening after a great 3 days exploring the local countryside. The beach is just a 15mins walk and a great place to walk off those calories!!

Staff were friendly and helpful, if a little uncoordinated. We were seated in a nice booth. Our starters, hot lamb and chilli chicken, were truly sensational. This set expectations perhaps unreasonably high for the second course. Our mains were very pleasant, but not stand out like the starters. The garlic naan was great - very fresh and soft.

Absolutely delicious! My companion and I stuffed ourselves till we were about to burst! Everything came out fresh and just hot enough to gobble it down without burning our mouths. Only downside is my Bengal paneer was listed as medium spice but it was not spicy at all. A little sad but understandable considering it's in Bournemouth. Looking forward to visiting again!

The taj Mahal in westbourne is a great place great food freshly cooked and friendly staff. Very good price and if you needed water they came straight over. Well worth a visit for a good night.

Wonderful restaurant virtually on our doorstep who have won many awards. It was so spacious and inviting as we stepped inside. The staff were very welcoming and the place was full. Service was very prompt and menu vast and laid out very well, i.e. explaining the dishes and their strengths of heat and spices. Food very tasty and delicious.A must to visit again.
