I and my family have had a wonderful evening out at this restaurant and the staff were very attentive and the food was the best I’ve had. Would recommend this place to everyone

In my opinion the best Indian takeaway in the whole of Bristol and amazing value for money. Furthermore if you opt to collect instead of delivery then you receive a 20% discount.

We booked for 15 people, turned up and they’d given our table to another group - fair enough, everyone makes mistakes… but when we arrived they tried to lie about what happened and were generally rude, if they’d apologised and been courteous they’d have three stars, but sadly not. We had to leave and order pizzas at home.

The Bristol Raj has now re-opened. This was our first visit after the easing of lockdown but we have been many times before. Firstly, they have deep cleaned and have removed the table cloths so they can wipe down between customers. They wear face masks when serving you and have a visitor book running as required by the policy. The restaurant was sadly empty and needs your support.The food. Sorry to hear previous poster had a bad experience. Honestly, apart from Nutmeg in Clifton, which is significantly more expensive, we find Bristol Raj to be the most consistent and flavoursome. You just need to find your favourites and then you're in curry heaven!We had the Raj Murgh. Yes, it didn't quite meet the description and was sweet, but was full of large pieces of marinated chicken beast and had a tamarind based sauce with fenugreek finish. It has mango chutney in to thicken, not MSG, and tasted lovely. It was mild, not the 2 chilli rating, but they can easily fix that.The best for me is the King Prawn Chilli Chingra Murg (I think it's called that). Large succulent prawns, beautiful sauce laden with finger chilli, it's like a chilli minefield! My fave yet.Drinks. They have Kingisher on tap and also have bottles of other drinks. They are also fine with you bringing your own!In summary, we think the Bristol Raj is far better than others locally. It's a very basic venue but the prices reflect that. You'll get very good quality food and a warm welcome.

I'm really not a fussy eater, but given that the order came to a total of £31, we expected the food to atleast seem fresh (even if not), hot, returant standard quality & packaged semi-neatly.... we wont be buying from here again, here's why:- Tandoori selection did not look half as fresh as the image on the app & the texure was dry as if it was over cooked or reheated. Also, a good handcul of onions covering the top, to the point we had to remove the onions to know what it was.- chips were soaked in oil and cold.- salad came in a small white plastic bag with the handles tied (a small version of the kind of carrier bags you'd collect food in from a takeaway); and only included one single, quarter slice of tomato, 1 slice of cucumber, quarter lemon and plenty of grated iceberg lettuce.......- the curry sauce tasted watered down and could clearly see a layer of oil - too much oil, again!- Chicken Biryani rice texture was like value supermarket rice... I assume it was probably reheated, and perhaps why the texture seemed so cheap and spoiled.

Fabulous curry, the best in the area. Our go to curry house for the last 2 years. Great value, great choice, really lovely staff and to top it off its bring your own too. The restaurant itself isn't salubrious, but good enough for you to take your parents as the curry is so awesome.The restaurant also does great takeaway for collection and delivery.

Best curry in Bristol in my opinion. And my friend agrees. Being your own beer is an option, so less painful on the pocket too. Love the place. Book a table on weekends to avoid disappointment as it's sometimes booked out.

I have dined at the venue many times and order take away on a regular basis.The food has always been of high quality, fresh ingredients and finely cooked.The portions are generous and the staff are very courteous and kind. On several occasions they have given discounts or have added extra side dishes, dips and salad on top of my order. I highly recommend the Bristol Raj to anyone wanting to try Indian food in Bristol.

Not a good takeaway at all and there are certainly much better to be found in and around Clifton.Popular with students due to the BYO policy they have.Been here a couple of times due to it's proximity to our house and we regret it each and every time. The standard of cooking and/or ingredients is very low; wife's chicken korma has tasted like tinned chicken soup and their tikka masala is way off.There's often weird shouting from by the bins out the back toward closing time which is odd.

Absolutely awful takeaway. Delivery estimated 45mins - 1h max. Food arrived at 1hr 40 mins. Missing part of the order and the curry we did receive was like dishwater. Phoned for refund for items missing which was declined and I was told the reason was that 'it was a Saturday' and they are busy with only one driver - however this does not excuse the missing items, substandard food and poor customer service. We will never use this 'restaurant' again.
