Although we were greated with a blunt question: have you got a reservation! Our sweet kiwi 🥝 Bethan waitress completely changed our experience! Gladly she was not the one who asked us that. Food was delish, drinks also and the environment was great for a Sunday evening! Not at all crowded. Definitely recommend.

Lovely building and interior. Decent selection of meal options for lunch. We both had burgers which were fine. Service was quick and efficient. The place wasn't busy but it was a Monday lunchtime. I'd eat there again.

Guineas pie was a stew with puff pastry top! Hardly any meat and lots veg pale gravy unlike what you would expect a Guineas pie to be like, rich dark gravy and meaty. Fish pie hardly any potato and looked like the slops of other peoples left overs! Won’t be going there again! Very poor!

Went here for New Year's Eve. Our waitress Eszter, was a lovely young lady. Knew what she was doing, and done it exceptionally well. She is a credit to you. Also the manager who was duty took the time to wish each and every table all the best for 2022. Lovely place and atmosphere

Always a pleasure to come here, but their Christmas Day dinner (not for the first time) was first class. Good food, lovely ambience, and a great team of staff (hard-pressed but efficient, professional, helpful and cheerful). Well done.

Classy restaurant close to the University. The menu includes many typical dishes with some vegetarian and vegan options available. Particularly recommended the camembert and squid appetizers, the fillet and the pot pie. The price is above average, but it's in line with the restaurant target and the quality of the menu. Staff is great. Totally recommended!

We had a lovely dinner at Browns. The food was very tasty and the atmosphere was cool. The service was very good. Special mention to the cleanness of the restrooms

Nice place with great vibe. Cool decor and great staff who make it a pleasure to hang out there. They have a rich menu with plenty of options for everyone - we had pies that were quite good. Portions were generous, food was very rich but could be better balanced and with more sharpness. They have a good choice of cocktails too and an interesting wine selection. However the espresso martinis we had could be better. Overall a good place to visit and great to take a big group of people. Also- you definitely need a reservation cause the place gets very busy!

It was over two years since my friend moved to London and we had eaten our final meal before her move, and planned annual revisits and last Friday we had the first opportunity to do so. Covud19 and other health issues had prevented earlier meet ups.We were both not disappointed with the new Al a carte.menu. I had scallops salmon and profiteroles.my friend had the mushrooms, vegetable pie and home made brownie. With a bottle of procesco the total bill with service was very good value. Thanks to everyone who kept the food coming will be coming back again soon

Very lovely, though I feel the food doesn't meet the standard of the decor. What a lovely place Browns is and it's a truly lovely place in which to dine and drink. It's reminiscent of an overseas Empire club from many, many a decade ago, what with it's lofty ceilings, large windows, impressive lights and grand piano. The food itself is jolly nice, though I've found after a couple of visits that there's a certain - (pause here for dramatic effect) je ne sais quois missing. My perfectly adequate ribeye seemingly adrift amid an ocean of ceramic plate, accompanied on a seemingly lonesome date with pot of fries; delightful monkfish presented in chunks (it's a lovely fillet and beautiful when lightly pan fried or poached) atop vegetables including, quelle horreur, broad beans, tantamount to culinary naffness. (Enter name of suitable colourful vegetable here as an alternative).None of my party left unhappy, so don't get me wrong, as it's the whole package to be relished, I'm just saying that for >me< it's "a B++ on the homework young lad, room for improvement, eh?"I'll be in again next week, regular table please.✌️
