I've been here a few times lately and there have always been interesting beer options. The manager/owner knows how to look after the beer.

Fabulous Sunday lunch. Lovely staff, great food & a nice relaxing atmosphere. It's reputation as a great place in Bristol for Sunday Lunch is truly deserved.

Had Sunday lunch, good service, great food and nice portion size. A selection of 4 meats and a veg options on offer. Starters and dessert available, will be booking again. 👍

Awful. Miserable staff, and we were told, when the pub had about 3 guests, to ‘keep our kids at our table as they’ve had complaints’. When asking whether the complaints were about our kids they said no, they’ve had complaints at times in the past. Highly recommend they open after kids are in bed.

We were recommended this place for our Sunday lunch so we booked in advance. It didn't get off to the best start because we arrived 5 minutes early, we walked in and we were told abruptly that "we aren't open" so we waited outside in the cold, windy weather. I don't see how we couldn't have waited just inside the door? The roast dinner was very, very good and enjoyed by all. The dessert was a mango cheesecake which sounded lovely but was dull and tasteless and disappointing. All in all an excellent roast but bad dessert.

Booking a roast in Bristol can be challenging at times and The Cross Hands managed to squeeze 6 of us in for a very last minute booking. The food was really really really good - particularly the roast lamb which just melted in the mouth. And the roast potatoes - divine. Not only that but it's really reasonably priced! The staff were great too - attentive but not too much and it's just felt very nice and relaxed which is what you want on a cold Sunday afternoon.I've docked a star as they sat us on a table right next to the kitchen which was fine but not ideal and the lighting in that particular area is really bright, unlike the rest of the pub which has a lovely cosy feel so we were a little disappointed about that. Partly our fault for the late booking but still could have been in keeping with the rest of the pub.I would really recommend this for a Sunday roast and we will be going back!

Went for a meal with the family last night. My son had pre-booked a table as there were 14 of us and because of the number we pre-ordered our food....The food was lovely, nicely presented and hot as one would expect it to be. Good service also ...This is a lovely pub however one thing let it down last night and that was the place was very cold. There didn't seem to be any heating on. The radiator by us was off ..It was a cold night however I would recommend this pub as long as they sort out the heating ...By the way their Passion Fruit Cheesecake is to die for ...Very light and ideal to have after your mains ..Shame about the heating....

Best pub. Friendly staff. Good vibes. Refreshing begs. Best roast in Bristol. Try the Siew Yoke it’s to die for (if you like meaty snacks that is)

Nice evening celebrating a friend's 70th birthday. Food tasty. Room not too big or too small. Good having a bar in same room.
