We popped in here enroute to a family funeral. We had travelled for 3 hours and needed to change clothes, we asked at the bar if they would mind us changing in the pub, they offered us a room at the back which we were very grateful for.The new management team are friendly polite and helpful. We all thank you for allowing us to change and thank you for the compassion you showed us.Give them a chance it's improved so much under the new team.

Good value for money for good pub food. I’m a regular visitor and always find the staff friendly, accommodating and just nice. it’s a great place to take my grannie for lunch.

We visited on the snow evening and found the manager on his own behind the bar as staff hadn't turned up. This wasn't an issue though, as he served 3 people simultaneously to keep up with the (busy) demand of punters that evening. We also ate and found the good to be of "cheap and cheerful" quality, certainly nothing bad and we were pleased to find a booth with tv to watch the football.Despite the manager being very busy he did come over and apologise for not clearing our table sooner - unheeded but shows his attention to detail. In terms of amenities, the pub has a pool table and dart board and ample seating including outdoor area.A great local - will definitely visit again.

Sorry to say disappointed. Used to use it but may not in future. Under new management and guy seemed very nice and welcoming but the food although plentiful needs to be sorted. Landed up having an all day breakfast as other meals were not available. No Fish, or Ham to go with the eggs. The food was very greasy and frying pan needs a good clean as bacon was covered in black. Do not think I will be having a meal there again. Sorry.

After being taken over by new management, the atmosphere has lightened up, It's become a delight to just sit in and have a drink with friends or family also the kitchen is now open practically everyday and the food is delicious! Looking forward to what they have in store in the future!

Just left the cross hands.. after waiting 45 minutes for food it seemed to appear or at least half of one person's order... then the other persons food arrived witch was wrong and the waitress replied " I'll f***ing kill meaning the bar staff who pit the order through. Asked her where my burger was and had a reply " 2 secs and follwed 5 minutes later with a raw burger which was returned. 10 minutes later the other two meals arrived but looked like a pile of slop so returned them.... Asked for a refund and the bar maid which has a serious attitude tried to tell us ate son was rolling around on the floor which is no way possible as he never left are site... so as to being a child friendly pub ... well. O could go on but yiu will be bettet off going to the hungry hoarse.. this is not the first ti.e this has happened... the owner. Colin Yarra needs to pull his staff into line.... Steve jones

Sunday lunch - had the 8oz rump and chicken melt baguette. Delicious. A steak cooked to perfection, medium rare and that I cut with a butter knife. Lovely staff, clean and welcoming.

My mum and I had lunch on Fri before collecting my fiance at Bristol airport. The food was lovely and piping hot. I have just finished another meal with my fiance on the way back to airport. The food was good good value, tasty and very hot. I will definitely be returning.

Me, my friend, her daughter and her boyfriend came here one sunday for a roast (it advertises an "all day roast"). Upon arriving we were told that only chicken was left (this was about 2pm). We all ordered chicken only to be told 10 minutes later that there were no roast potatoes and that we could only have chips. We were all hungry so we agreed to have chips. After waiting for the best part of an hour our meals were delivered to our table. Upon eating the first mouthfull of chicken I realised that it was still frozen and so was everyone elses!. I went to the bar and complained - our meals were were taken away and replaced 10 minutes later. Only this time the chicken was dry as a bone (obviously been blitzed in the microwave) and the veg (mixed-frozen) was still frozen. I complained again however the staff were not willing to give a refund. This is the worst roast meal that I have ever eaten (infact, it THE worst meal I have ever eaten!). This pub REALLY needs to step up its game as far as food is concerned. I shall not be coming here again.
