Great pub near Brandon hill , lovely staff , good choice of drinks , card and board games . Also had art work up on the walls from local artists which was varied and colourful.

Lovely little place off the main drag, nice little haven on a busy day. Great beer selection and the pop up Indian street food was yummy. Dog and small child friendly.

Lovely little pub, great beer prices and the food's always been decent when I've eaten here :) Big fan of the outdoor garden too!

Having phoned to book a table for 7 of us for 2pm we arrived to find no table reserved at all and told there was space in the garden. As it was a cold winters day this was not appealing, but luckily someone left so we grabbed a table. Staff didn’t know if child’s portions were possible or even bothered to go ask the kitchen. An hour and 10 mins later our food arrived but was lukewarm at best. Don’t bother.

A great little pub with lovely staff. You'll find a good selection of beer here, plus Sunday roast and curry is on offer. Can't go wrong here. Been a few times now and it is becoming one of my favourites!

Went here today for Sunday roast. The place was really quite cold when we arrived at 12.30, but within the next hour the heating kicked in and it was more pleasant. Food wise I couldn't fault it. Really generous portions, piping hot and very tasty. I would recommend.

Good seating area out back and progressive too as they had gender neutral toilets! :O Well located just off the city centre, and good selection of drinks.

Absolutely adored my visit go the Hope and Anchor. Friendly staff. Great beer. Great service. I had a Roast Seitan Chicken from Soy Ahoy which was perfect. The veggies were also a solid 10/10 as was the gravy. I was also elated as a non binary person to see the toilets signed as 'Cubicles' and 'Cubicles and Urinals' which made me feel incredibly comfortable and valid. Venue is a total vibe, I'll be going back for more Sunday roasts or just to read a book n sink a pint.

They've got a nice backyard garden with a couple of covered and heated tables. There are some nice beers. Food wise, they offer more than usual pub food, for instance, a few Mexican dishes. We tried lamb barbacoa, which was good-ish.
