Juniper Restaurant in Bristol

Really very underwhelming.

Last time I went to Juniper, it was a little hit and miss. Everything was very retro, with cress adorning almost every dish and interesting decorations made from sliced pepper and cherry tomatoes at the sides of the plates.My main of Cornish mullet with crushed Jersey Royals was beautiful, and the Bakewell tart perfect, but a cheese plate was badly presented and the grapes by which the cheese was accompanied were definitely past their best.With a dirty table and a sticky wine list accompanying our meal, it could have been a great evening but was let down in a few areas. A real shame.

Wonderful service, prompt courses, delicious (and filling) food and a free glass of a nice red.I can really recommend the rather phenomenal scotch egg starter, still runny. And for a real good price too!

A great dissappointment!We purchased a 5 course taster menu via living social. On arrival, the table was by the door, ambience poor, decor filthy and staff surly. The food wasn't an interesting taster menu but a poor attempt at a 5 course meal showing little originality and poor presentation. I spent half the night on the loo and interestingly we met another couple we knew doing the same deal and subsequently discovered that one of them also came down with an upset stomach. The restaurant carries a health warning and should definitely to be avoided.

Recently had a 5 course taster. The perfect amount of food, all tasty and well cooked. The beef was excellent. Service was very fast. First course on the table about 5 mins after order taken.

Food and service are excellent here - best dauphinoise I've ever had in my life. They do a lot of deals as well, sign up for the newsletter!

Delicious and beautifully presented food. Fantastic service.I went to Juniper after purchasing a living social voucher, and I have to say I was worried after reading the latest reviews.There was no need to worry at all. Service was fantastic, staff were incredibly friendly. We were given the choice of seating downstairs and selected a table for two by the window. We went on a Thursday night and the place was pleasantly busy, but we did not suffer for this.Importantly the food was just fabulous. Every mouthful was delicious and the portion sizes perfect. We would definitely return to this place as I think it is officially the best food in Bristol!!
