A really great time here having Sunday lunch. They accommodate dogs (inside) and children without bother, even finding the dogs some biscuits!The roast dinner was very tasty, a generous portion too.My dessert was a little disappointing, they are on the more expensive end and the piece of frangipange tart I had felt like the last bit at the end, dry and stale.Dispite this I would go back as the rest of the meal was good and my companions desserts were fine.

Delicious lunch complete with daily specials, great staff, first place in a while that has felt like a proper normal UK pub. Many thanks to all involved, we shall be back.

The food and drinks were fine (Harvey's Best Bitter was exceptional), but unfortunately our visit was tempered by a negative experience once we received the bill. It seems that the policy is to automatically add 10% (yes, 10%!!) to the bill as an 'optional' service charge. This is very misleading - it is not exactly 'optional' when it is automatically added to our bill. After paying, and not realising, I went to the bar and was immediately told I could have a refund of this charge. Come on Old Spot, this is really disingenuous and a poor way to treat your customers. My partner commented that she would not be happy to pay this extra charge, but would have been too embarrassed to challenge it. This this what to are depending on to raise your revenue - customers too embarrassed to challenge it? We won't be back as this is a poor and dishonest way to treat your customers. What a shame.

Met up with one of my best friends today for an early birthday lunch for me. Excellent service. We were looked after by Matt. An excellent ambassador for your pub. Fab service and very enjoyable food. Thank you

The interior is nice, and the best feature of the place is its spacious garden. The beverages were good, but the food was quite average. Service can be quite slow at peak hours (waited 20 minutes for a pint). What makes this place worth it is the open garden to sit at during the Summer.

An excellent wedding celebration day. The old spot was an ideal location. Very good atmosphere, lovely freshly cooked food, with a large garden, and ample cover for the adverse weather. A great all day event. I would recommend the Old spot for anyone to consider for a celebration occasion.

More a restaurant than pub, I think, ideal for large groups of family and friends.The food is fine from a sensible menu. On fine days the marque provides much needed additional space.What make this eatery special is the super young staff. What a breath of fresh air to be served by personable cheerful and willing young service staff. Charming!I enjoyed my time here and saw lots of happy people. Well worth a try.

Lovely food and very well presented. Could have done with a few light bites however friendly efficient staff and good service. Lovely outdoor area with lights and a good selection of tables. Very welcoming.

Family and dog friendly pub. I have been here several times and never had a problem. It has a great enclosed garden which is sun trap. Just perfect for some food and drink.

Today I ordered a Fish Finger sandwich and unfortunately it was very disappointing.It came in a large door step of white bread (as described on the menu) so that wasn't a surprise but there was far more bread than the filling warranted. Actually there was far more Lettuce than anything else. It filled the plate but really didn't contribute anything to the overall experience.The idea of a home made fish fingers has a certain appeal but when i order a 'fish finger buttie' i really want fish fingers in breadcrumbs, preferably from a packet, with a picture of a sea captain on the front.What I got were two small slices of fish dipped in batter and fried but they were very small and the ones i had were full of bones, some thing i wasn't expecting.I did eat them but i left far more food than I ate which is a shame as my experiences here in the past have been good.My fellow diners fared much better.The Posh Sausage Sandwich was full of sausage which had enough substance and flavour to counter the large slices of bread.The Ham Egg and Chips looked good though the fried egg had a skirt on it (burnt white) which some might not like and the egg was kind of flopped on top, which looked like an afterthought, though I'm assured it tasted fine. But why all that Lettuce?There wasn't much Ham either.Sadly the Fish Finger sandwich was a let down and at these prices I wouldn't expect to be disappointed.
