Came here to have dinner, and the food was pretty tasty. The staff were also friendly which is nice. Would recommend having the beef burger

Nice place but ordered a pint and a G & T and it came to over 12.quid. I didn't ask for a double measure but it seemed they give you doubles unless you asked for a single specifically. Lesson learned.

A traditional old style pub with friendly staff and the charming aroma of an open fire.

Great location, worth a glance for a photo! Though inside the staff is not safe by covid regs as was eating food and serving beers at the same time. Sounded rather blunt and casually insulting me on entry. Of which one would not expect at such a high performing area of Bristol centre.

Love this most classically English of pubs in the city. I'm not the biggest fan of the Samuel Smiths range of beers though, but they do have a complete range. Great atmosphere, open fires, friendly service and subtle, toned down Christmas decorations all add up to be one to revisit. Quiet on a Sunday evening.

It's a Samuel Smiths pub. Definitely a 'proper' pub, which is a good thing of course. Beer is all Samuel Smiths, but that's OK as they have a couple of bitters, a few different lagers, a stout, a mild (unusual these days) etc. Phones, laptops etc are banned apparently 😄 so you might have to actually speak to someone.

I used to love Sam Smiths ales, and their pubs, bit this one was a sad act unfortunately. The barmaid was on good form though, and served promptly and was very friendly. The ales were of a reasonable standard but the prices have risen drastically since I tried them last... I think better offerings are available in Bristol for a similar price point.

Lovely old untouched in decades pub. Completely empty on the inside, very expensive £6 for 2/3 pint bottle of beer, no on tap draughts available. Such a shame, should be so much more than it is.

Doorway cluttered with furniture so wasn't sure if it was open. Only one couple in there. When I asked the guy behind the bar I got a surly "yeah" asked for a pint and an orange and lemonade his reply was " orange and lemonade was very expensive as he had to mix two drinks. Pint and a coke and left quickly . Place was like an undertakers waiting room. So different to my visit 4 years ago
