Always very smoky, came out smelling like a chip pan. A fan whilst cooking maybe the way to eliminate smoke from seeping in to the eating area.

New update: March 30th morning 2022. Lovely!!! Two slices bacon beans on toast breakfast. 9 a.m.Jan 24th: Have been a local for 50+ years & coming here for the last 5+, for all but daily for breakfast to start the days most! well. It remains so, I and loads of others think so I know !!...a great place for me & many. Lovely !! bacon sandwiches, great scrambled egg on toast, delicious local sausages and more.. and X Y z all very good in basis,... up with other great cafes bistros coffee shops about in the days. And I one of locals who come back here onwards & onwards most glad January 2022 that we have such a very good place no change, and excellent friendly owner good friend to many, for those who respect each other kindly too. We might all have our off days & when it seems we are a bit short tempered, but one perseveres with fully good intented and sound proper kind. And clean fine businesses & their good friendly and proper honourable ways at base. And does not make issue on one off visits or in ways which could threaten others' livelihoods. Amazon and other reviewers all the same. Be thoughtful proper each be. I & others stand up for good local businesses in our community when they face being slagged off, or untrue over the top words. And Google will also!! too if reviewers are found to have written truly!! out of order ! As others in the days social media cannot be misused, or when one is in a bad mood publish things which might truly put folk out of work & affect wider! Good honourable owner here concerned! & to have his tight margins by extreme or untruth(!?) reviews, wrongly put folk off at this critical We locals are too!. Reviewers might have selfish motives too? But 5+ stars many locals, still for here, give !!. New update Sat August 21st. late, 2.45 pm! lunch time: what a lovely! tasty, takeaway beef chilli with rice lunch, I reckon !! -- 5! stars, wholesome chilli minced beef version, with fried mushrooms and onions. What a lovely tasty wholesome lunch! Many thanks to Nico & Jason and the cooking team members. - Many thanks.New update: What a great way to start a Monday morning !! I reckon that was a very nice coffee!!.. made by Jason, one of the two good amiable brothers, who now run this great local cafe as has been and still is! Great !! Could do with a biscuit option with the coffee I think myself than cake or nothing in such terms. But it's great anyway what one still finds here. Nice quiet corner and good local chat and beans on toast with a slice of their lovely locally sourced meat bacon from Easter Compton farm. 5 stars very much so still I reckon. One might needs pay a bit more just now in society terms, but hopefully not more than we can afford, us folk, and give and share and share alike with busineses who needs meet their bills too. One must think of the costs they face and what one pays for: the time they take to cook it and the lovely table space too.Update !: Takeaways great in March 2021 lockdown, Thurs to Sat 10 until 2 pm... Great local independent run by Nico and Jason now, running it most well and seeking to develop further ... Great !! And to have lovely tasty burger in bap with relish, yum!, and then next day sausage and fried onions sandwich. Proper job, lovely stuff, great! lunch. Nice coffee etc too. Variations on a flap jack theme, and Danish pastries etc and nice Frobisher fruit juice too. And Nico and Jason most keen to keep going for all through and post lockdown ..Great !! Long hope it will be so, ...and better still !!And PS, end of day further report !: - a lovely takeaway chilli con carne, -with added mushroom portion on request, to keep up the veg! '5 a day'-, and rice, today Thurs 18th. Great!!: nutritious, very nice food wholesome food, ... for great cafe bistro(?) of the norm, and for a local takeaway the same now in lockdown, only Thurs to Sat 10 til 2pm at the moment, but after 12th April should be more I believe ... Bristol BS9, Westbury on Trym village suburb, in Carlton Court(yard) up past by the Coop top end of the precinct(?)/ courtyard.

After my first visit I gave this ‘establishment’ a poor review. After sleeping on this, I decided to delete it and go back a couple of months later a see if it was a one off and give a fairer review.I wish I hadn’t.The menus are still so tatty and like a dog has chewed away at the lamination. The ‘gentle’man in there was demanding and rude to his staff. This is something I witnessed on both of my visits.I ordered the beef burger and a cappuccino. I doubt there was any milk in my cappuccino at all! Could’ve easily been foam from fairy liquid. The beef burger was crusty and tasteless. I heard clattering pans and all of a sudden the boss was shouting at the poor cook. I can’t believe the lack of respect for his own staff.Avoid this establishment at all costs! Many local news outlets are complaining about the state of Westbury-upon-Trym of late, it’s clear this cafe is one of the key contributors

Visited for the first time on the weekend with my mum for breakfast.Placed our order, my mum ordering a breakfast without black pudding and tomato.Order arrived and her breakfast also had no hash browns or beans. We raised this with the staff to receive the response "ohh it's OK you're old and must have forgotten what you ordered".Utterly rude and unnecessary ageism, instead of accepting a genuine mistake had been made. Food that was received was mediocre at best.1/10, will not be coming again.

The food is good and have gone in here a few times..... How ever yesterday had gone in with sister in law sat at a table for 4 but was asked to move to table for 2 because obviously if they have a family of 4 would need the table although another couple came in and sat at the table for 4 but was not asked to move even though they had other tables that had just 2 seats but over hearing the conversation they were obviously locals as knew there names and they weren't waiting for another couple because they had ordered food..so was very annoyed .
