The food was amazing but it was just a shame that we had hoped for a quiet evening. I think having people dining should be reconsidered if there's a joint 30th birthday disco going on - as we couldn't hear ourselves talk. Staff were very kind though and patient as some of the people I was with aren't used to pay as you go food. Also dog friendly and steak was perfect.

Enjoyed lunch here. Friendly, helpful staff. Plenty of choice on the menu and nice food! £6 lunch was excellent value.

Friendly and polite staff, nice building, large covered and heated patio. But unfortunately the food was below average, not at all worth the elevated price tag. Drinks were wildly overpriced, £6.20 for a pint of Guinness.

I visited Racks Bar & Kitchen on Tuesday for lunch break. I was surprised how restaurant looks inside (positively of course). The smell next to bar was awful and smelt like broken pipe but I didn't ask further about it. Stuff was very friendly and menu looked really good. I decided to take falafel + coffee latte and my partner took nachos with beef.Coffee very pretty disappointing and below our expectation but at the same time it's not a coffee shop, so it's defo not the most focus part of the restaurant. My falafel was really tasty and my partner liked nachos. The size was always bigger than we expected for £6! Food was really surprisingly good and it was very positive experience. We will definitely re-visit and check other options from the menu. I feel this restaurant got potential to have 5/5 stars review!

Just got back from a Christmas gathering with friends. The staff were run ragged due to sheer volumes but nothing was too much trouble. Service was FAULTLESS even in the face of adversity. If you're there for the 2021 Xmas menu try the beef. Teeth are not a requirement. Very tender. Incredibly tasty.10/10. Would recommend. Thanks for the brandy x

Before I start please excuse the terrible quality of the photos...temporary phone in use.So..it's hard to believe the bar is anything associated with the Clifton Hotel, the hotel itself is pretty grim in all honesty, especially for the location. It's in desperate need of remodelling, the staff are great in all fairness, but due to the location and the photos online I was expecting more...although I didn't make the booking so unsure of the room rates. But to Racks Bar itself ..huge underground venue situated underneath the hotel brilliant chilled Sunday atmosphere, some really pleasant staff , especially Reave who mainly waited on us, making me feel right at home instantly.I went for the Racks Burger as was feeling pretty delicate from the night before and it hit the spot perfectly ... a huge amount of perfectly cooked beef, and surprisingly without the addition of cheese was 10 /10.Quite a nice varied menu which I wouldn't mind going through on my return to Bristol. All together I think this bar is great and would love to visit again on a busy night to see how the atmosphere plans out say on a Friday or Saturday evening .I can safely say I'll be regularly returning whenever I'm in my second home city. Thanks guys

Went for a wedding reception. Food was nice and staff were pleasant. The woman who was meant to be organising didnt turn up so that's not great but the staff picked up her slack very well. Was a bit too hot inside though and too busy outside

Horrific dining experience. Started unsatifactorily with rude manager in response to a polite request to change from bar stool table to normal table due to physical disability (pre booked in advance and no option to choose table type. Was unhelpfully told by said manager to put it in the comments when booking). Once seated we began to use the app to order as not given menus. Manager came over to take a drinks order, unhappy we were using app so then provided menus. Visa card was requested and taken to set up the tab and this was then not returned and remained with the manqger (we assume) for the rest of our time eating. Order arrived part hot part cold. Pizza ordered had minimal topping on half the pizza, did not cover much of the pizza and left of unedible crust. 2 pieces of goats cheese on whole goats cheese pizza. Cheesy chips were chosen as an option between fries and chips. Fries were given incorrectly. Pork chorizo empendas (plural) chosen from the small plates menu. Arrived cold and soggy. 1 small empanada cut in half arrived, not the multiple as on menu. £5.50 charge. It tasted bland - no taste at all of chorizo (normally overpowering taste). Halloumi fries also ordered were hot, well cooked and tasty. Drinks arrived promptly and as ordered. On asking for the bill ourselves (as we waited a long time with no one clearing plates) the waitress asked if everything was ok. My partner mentioned that a couple of things werent great. The waitress said she would speak to the manager. The manager came over and was rude, passive aggressive and abrupt from the start of the conversation. Absolutely no customer service skills at all. He proceeded to not listen to a word of us trying to explain the incorrect things with our meal, even when the printed menu proved him incorect. He said he would eat things as they had been served so we shouldnt have a problem with them. We then informed him that we actually ordered puddings the night before as room service (as staying in the hotel above), which caused us to be ill all night. We had already pre booked so gave the benefit of the doubt to still eat there the following night. We would not recommend at all and would urge the manager to go undertake some customer service training. The ladies who served the food to the table and intially booked us in were all polite and attentive. Thank you ladies.

A nice pub with plenty of outdoor space. They have many big tables so you can easily arrange for a larger group. The staff is super fun and kind - you can have a nice chat and agood laugh while ordering. It is a nice place for a drink. The food is quite good, but as to my taste it could be improved. They have a variety of options so easily can something you like.

This place is an absolute gem in Clifton. It was rugby night at the time we went so it was extremely busy. Still the staff was super nice, and we got a table in a more quiet part of the bar, away from the cheering crowd so we could have a chat. The food is absolutely amazing, plenty of veggie options. They even made me a cocktail that wasn't on the menu. 100% recommend them.
