Ate here as part of a large group, was overall a very nice meal but the portions were a bit stingy and even within that they were tight with the expensive components of the food. Everything was cooked well, especially the scallop starter which almost our whole table ordered and they were able to get all of them out well.Would also say the service was a bit confused and perhaps they are not experienced with big groups but for an ordinary meal I think this could be a hidden gem.

Simple, but almost nigh on perfect meal. Wife and I stopped for a roast dinner. As a walk in they were busy but able to accommodate us. The food came quickly was tasty and immaculately presented. The staff were attentive and prompt yet completely unobtrusive. The only reason I don’t say it was completely perfect was that we didn’t have the time to work our way through what looked like fabulous deserts. Would definitely go back…

Food was tasty and the location was great, especially if you get a spot on the terrace. But service let everything down.We arrived at 11.20, and as we hadn't booked, were advised we had the table to 1pm, which ordinarily would have been more than sufficient. We ordered drinks soon after (which arrived with a small diversion as the lady didn't know which table was that on the order), and were also able to have food ordered in short order. After a considerable wait, our food arrived around 12.45; my wife and I both ordered the breakfast, but had slightly different plates; hash browns and mushroom missing from my wife's plate. The hash browns were quickly rectified, but the mushroom had apparently been replaced by an additional sausage (it hadn't, as we both had 2 on our plates). While waiting, we had asked as to where our food was, to be told that there had been an issue in the kitchen of which we had not been advised. We were with our young daughter, and if we had been made aware of the delay, may have made alternative plans. To add insult to injury, a customer who arrived after us, was served before us.Many of the wait staff seemed disorganised, based on who and when of interaction. While I can appreciate that issues can cause stress, I felt that some communication would have gone a long way in this instance and allowed is to manage our visit and time much better.

I've been coming here for about 25 years, off and on. I guess it's probably changed ownership during that time, but it hasn't changed a lot. "Posh" restaurant upstairs and more casual food downstairs. Great views over the harbour. The food downstairs is "good pub food" and service is generally good. The name comes from the fact that the building was formerly the harbour police station.

Great views towards the harbour and attentive staff, gets lively in the evening so best to book but the sunset views alone make it worth it. The food is delicious, well balanced with plenty of appetising options for every taste. Unfortunately the portion size for mains is slightly underwhelming - perhaps include more of the sides given the price? Most of our group had to order additional sides. Fantastic wines and great craft beer selection.

Me and my boyfriend came here last night for a late birthday meal and we were not disappointed. I've been coming here for years and it's been consistently good every single time. It was my boyfriends first time here and he agreed that it was brilliant. As soon as we walked in we were greeted by the owner who has always made an effort to make customers feel welcome. The food was excellent especially the dessert which was a cinnamon bread and butter pudding. Initially we saw that it had been taken off the menu but when I inquired about it the waitress made a special effort to see if we could have some. Our server, Emily was great and we really felt looked after. This is my favourite restaurant and I think it will stay that way for a very long time. Will be returning as soon as we can.

Lovely view of the river. Good portion sizes. I enjoyed the food, but nothing to write home about. Not a memorable meal. Service was good but they were not well versed in their menu or drinks selection.

·

Excellent service.Food presentation was lovely.Portion size quite meager.Overall, quite expensive and underwhelming taste wise.Would not recommend as there are far better venues in and around Bristol.

Delicious cocktails were sipped over a stunning spot, very helpful and friendly staff, especially when we had a 4 month old with us. A fab place to take a break while visiting Bristol

Contemporary interior, friendly staff, excellent food, my steak was a bit chewy but then I think that was it bring a bavette.
