Great night Run Come Down Aleighcia Scott and Norris Brown and the Band.

Booked a table for 8. Ordered pizzas and an hour and 10 minutes later they still hadn't arrived. We complained to the manager and he gave us a round of free drinks which was decent of him but when the pizza did arrive 10 minutes later it was burnt. Also a rowdy group from the balcony were chucking drinks down onto us. Security did remove them but all in all it wasn't a great experience. Pizzas are supposed to be quick and simple.

Massive place with a lovely vibe. Beer and pizza are good, but it can be tricky to get a seat. Events will turf you out without a ticket, so check before you go if anything is on.Beer terrace, theatre and probably more tucked away inside. Will definitely return!

Just had our first roast here after being for drinks and dinner in the past, it was absolutely incredible and service was friendly and relaxed. I had the lamb but others the beef, pork and nut roasts which were great too.

First time visitor and booked Sunday Lunch. Both myself and daughter ordered The Pork Belly roast. šŸ˜‹ Absolute delight , pork, crackling and gravy were top class . Plenty of roasted veg and potatoes, also cooked to perfection. Unhealthy but delightful portions! The Assembly room is atmospheric with rose ceilings and other decor showcasing it's historic past matched with unfussy furnishings to make it all feel homely. Noted that they'd put thoughtful sound breaks on the cieling which ensure peoples conversations are kept to their tables...Warm and snug inside despite zero temperatures outside.Staff welcoming and friendly. Oh yes trademark Bloody Mary was also perfect with for me just the right amount of tobascco to give us a warming kick.10/10 experience.

Really poor customer service experience here. Given all of the good reviews, we were really hopeful, but had a really rude bar lady who just couldn’t be bothered to be polite or even aware of what food was available (you have to order food at the bar). We had to order three times as so much was missing from the menu and when the food arrived was given one fork as ā€˜the kitchen has run out of forks’. Really?!? I’m sure performance stuff is great here, and the venue is decent, but I wouldn’t go there on a Saturday evening for food.

I had an amazing Sunday Roast. I ordered Pork Belly and it was delicious. Top quality food in a very good atmosphere. I had 2 pints of wiper and true beer on draught, I always appreciate local beers on the selection. The people working on Sunday were very friendly and helpful.

Bit expensive, but a lovely place with plenty of choice to drink. Great, cozy beer 'garden', so at least it's fun if you're dragged along by a bunch of smokers šŸ˜‰Worth visiting for the decor alone

This is a good place for atmosphere. The room is impressive with traditional features. Some parts of the interior look like they need some TLC mind. We booked in on a Sunday and sat on the balcony indoors although we were offered a spot on the roof garden - it was far too warm for that though.Despite the weather, we ordered roast dinners. I had the vegetarian strudel which was very nice and not too cheesy which I find is often a worry with vegetarian options. Everything was lovely apart from from my potatoes which were a little firm/less crispy but others said their potatoes were fine so maybe I got the bad ones! For a roast dinner, I think this is fantastic value for money.

Amazing and super tasty Sunday Roast with a veggie option (no vegan). Nothing else on the menu, only one dessert option (sorry, don't remember what it was). Nice variety of drinks. Roast with wine: £17/each
