Went here on Sunday with my family and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. We each had something different (beef, lamb, belly pork and salmon) with all the trimmings. The food was delicious and the portions were generous We will definitely be going back for more.

Very disappointing lunch last Sunday. Menu was enticing with a good variety of vegetables but very small portions, 2 small "roast" potatoes, (not brown),a very flat Yorkshire pudding, a small spoonful of puréed celeriac (delicious but only 1 mouthful!), and the other veg were good but very small portions. The whole meal would have been slightly improved had it been hot and not served on cold plates.

The current owner has only been there for 5 months but she and her partner was very welcoming and they have plenty of ideas and plans for this lovely place. The building is beautiful and worth visiting.

Great traditional pub with a good range of beers and ciders. Has interesting theme nights.

Small interior, but in good weather the outside space was very good , good selection of beers, no food available

Went on Sunday for a roast with my partner and my family. Despite them saying they were a staff member down the service was really speedy. The food itself was excellent. I’ve eaten a lot of roast dinners (too many!) and this one was up there as one of the best I’ve had. All the veg was beautifully cooked, the chicken was nice and moist and the gravy was delicious.Things I liked even more were the fact that they kindly allowed me to have one of the roasted half-apples from the pork dinner with my chicken dinner. Very kind. They also were entirely happy bringing us more gravy when asked. I don’t know why but pubs are often really grouchy about having to bring more gravy! And finally my partner had the vegan roast. Often I find the vegan version of something like a roast to look and feel a little bit of an after thought but this one looked every bit as delicious and grand as the meat versions. We also had a little baby in our group and despite not having dedicated changing facilities we were offered a quiet private space to change him in. Good job.

As a Clifton local I'm pretty spoiled for good pubs. With that said (and after of plenty of *cough* research) the Lansdown really stands out for me. A cracking Georgian coaching inn offering loads of local craft beer and an inspired vegetarian-friendly menu, not to mention a memorable Sunday roast, this is my local pub of choice. I've caught Rugby matches, cheeky beers with mates and quiet afternoons with my fiancée here - and every experience has been a positive one.
