The Old Bookshop in Bristol

Lovely food. The seitan shawarma chippies were lovely, so good in fact 4 others in our group ordered it after they saw mine.

Cosy, energetic and popular. A small bar with a great atmosphere and (currently) exceptional Indian street food on the menu - new textures and flavours lovingly served.

Absolutely love this place. Amazing beer on an always changing menu, awesome vegan food at good prices. Plus they play 90s and 00s punk the whole time. This is the ultimate combo of things. And love the mezcal menu as a bit of novelty bonus.

I enjoyed an awesome pint of bitter on draught here, I can not remember the name of.it but the main point is the quality was impressive. The staff were all super friendly, and really spoiled our dog (also dog friendly) some interesting bar snacks and I loved the piano bar, really interesting place that is perfect for a few.

Lovely pub with really good beer, and a nice vegetarian menu. The huge Mezcal menu was also a nice surprise! The only thing stopping me giving it 5 stars is that the punk music soundtrack can get a bit relentless after an hour or so, it would be nice if the owners mixed up the music a bit more. Have visited 5 or so times and the music is always the same, and sadly not my kind of thing.

Pub with a wide range of cider and vegan food. Went for Sunday pie and it was amazing, took a meat eater who was blown away by the vegan food. Staff were really nice and the decoration was really quirky

I have all the love for The Old Bookshop! ❤️An amazing choice of beers is obviously a key feature. But awesome staff, great atmosphere, top tunes and incredible food definitely makes this one of my favourite spots in Bristol.

Had an amazing time at The Old Bookshop while visiting Bristol. A great, buzzing atmosphere as soon as you come off the street. If you can't get a seated table, there are standing tables near the bar which is a nice touch Loved the quirky artwork on the walls and pictures.I've always been a big fan of German beers in particular wheat beers - and this is a great place to come, if this is your thing. One of the best selections in the UK I've seen. The Jacob on draft was delicious, along with the usual German classics (see the Augustiner in the photos).All of this was complemented by the delicious vegan tapas-style dishes. I don't always eat vegan cuisine when I go out but I guarantee even meat eaters would enjoy this feast.The staff were very friendly and the clientele just generally very pleasant. I'll definitely be back to visit The Old Bookshop next time I'm back.

Lovely pint of left handed giant citra, loads of choice, especially ciders and Belgian, German beers. Nice atmosphere on Friday eve.

Absolutely outstanding selection of German and Belgian beers. Both on tap and in their extensive bottle list.A bright, open bar with cosy corners I can see spending winter nights in. Staff are super lovely and knowledgable.A truly unique and perfect addition to the Bristol beer scene.
