Years ago, Pump House was a great place to get a pint and great food.My most recent trip though said otherwise. The cask ales were not good and we ended up buy canned Arbor Ales (£6!!!) To then pour in our pint glass. The food was ok for the price, but the times of fantastic food have gone.To top off our experience we had an extra £50 on our bill from someone else's table that it took 2x attempts to remove and looking back I think we still paid their default 12.5% service charge.I'm assuming that isn't standard practice so am not holding that against them here. It's just an average pub charging a bit too much.

Food was really good, but service was so so,we kept asked for extra gravy,it never arrived, had to go to ask again,I don't think there is much communication between the manager and the waiters who were not very experience.

Visited today for the first time, without (foolishly) booking. A sunny Sunday at around 2pm. Luckily we were met by the very friendly Vera, who looked incredibly busy and the pub was very full inside and out. I doubted we would get a table. However, Vera took time to make sure that our party of 4 were accommodated and made to feel very welcome and not a hindrance. As expected, there was a little bit of a wait for food, but Vera kept us informed and visited the table to check for drinks. We ordered Children’s Roasts of Pork, Beef and Nutroast and an adults Beef. All were thoroughly enjoyed. Parking available onsite and a great spot by the picturesque part of the harbour. Thank you Vera, you helped make our afternoon and a credit to your team. Ian.

The drinks were good but it took 35 minutes from arriving at the pub to get a couple of beers served to the table. There is no option to order at the bar and a 12.5% service charge was automatically added to the bill despite the slow service.

Mixed experience at this place- we came in as a group looking for a quick drink. The drinks our group had were pretty good but the service wasn't great. The service was slow even though the pub wasn't that busy, the staff were quite abrupt and our bill took a look time to arrive. One of the people I was drinking with got given the wrong order. There was weird atmosphere and I don't think this place really merits the 12.5% service charge but the selection of drinks is pretty decent.

The Pump House is a truly lovely old building, in a great location. This used to be my favourite pub/restaurant in Bristol, however, it has changed a lot in the past year, and has lost a bit of the magic, with the restyling taking away a bit of the old character. It's a perfectly nice spot for a drink and deli-style food still, however. A good stop, if you're passing by, but maybe not quite worthy of a special trip

Odd menu mixing pub and restaurant food in old building but no view unless outside. Lunchtime atmosphere did not work for me and family and all the accolades on the door were about 5 years old and the quality in my view was lower than hoped but the pricing and automatic 12.5 service charge were too high for the fare being offered. Beetroot starter good but fish chips and burgers seemed average.

Portion size was exceptionally small... this is a main... and there was a very poor selection of vegan options (in fact no official options at all - just this variation on the veggy burger). Nice ambiance and location (outside) with friendly service.

We visited to celebrate my 60th birthday as apart of a Pub Crawl. We sit outside in accordance with COVID19 regs. The staff were welcoming and attentive, a variety of Glastonbury Ales / Ciders were presented to a high standard. Serving was at reasonable pace and several option were drunk. A comprehensive food was offered but tried this trip. Both the grain barge and the pump house local brew offering were complimentary, it is less than 10 minutes between the two, would visit again.

Booked for a lunch on recommendation and It was stunning food wise.Top marks for social distancing protocols and track ‘n trace.Lets come to the food, the gem lettuce dish with the broth and vegetables was delicious. The sauce conveyed a unique taste, it wasnt too buttery and was sour and spicy. I bet it was a healthy sauce. So dip your breads in the sauce and enjoy it.Main course - hake, mussels, grapes 🍇 and bed of spinach and the same classic sauce. Fish and chips was classic but do remember to get your vinegar. The dip is thick and I bet its fatty, but you don’t have to finish it.I highly recommend it.
