Visited this pub and received a good service from the staff and they had a band and some one play g records which created a hood atmosphere

Come on,what can l tell you?......well,a lot actually.lf you want a drink go to a pub,but if you want a drink and listen to some great local music ,played live then this is a choice destination,friendly if that's your thing,good service and l am told,really good food choices and just the right side of quirky as to not offend.l like it and in my humblest opinion,so will you.Must give a shout out for the band,waited a longtime to see them again,Covid and cancer curtailing my actions and mobility somewhat.Now we all cry freedom so off l toddled to listen to Snatch It Back,trio,brilliant musicians,pleseant to speak to,made the night for me.Book them again( Pub)see them anytime you can ( Pub goers).So in conclusion give the Railway and the band your serious consideration.

The only downside to this pub is the lack of vegetarian or vegan options. There's sides or Mac and cheese that are ok to eat if vegetarian. They've got a lovely garden and the staff are very friendly. The pub is also dog friendly and have water bowls for them too, just ask for one.

Came here today with the dog and kids -Food was awesome👌 The curry was awesome!!The kids had a adults fish fingers meal between them there was loads!! Proper Value for money 👍Thank you for your hospitality RT we will return 🙏

Whilst the castle itself is I'm sure, interesting (it dates back to 1593) my experience was with a meal rather than accommodation. We took our places at 2 tables in the garden (9 of us, so they couldn't really miss us!) & had to go and ask for menus - then tell them when we were ready to order. We asked for the one starter to be brought at the same time as the main meals - it wasn't! 4 reminders were needed before a diet coke arrived! Food was good and well presented - but the service did let them down!

Popped in for a quick pint and ended up staying for the most amazing curry!All the staff are lovely, food was so good and reasonably priced can't fault it.Perfect place to stop with the bikes if you've been out on the Bristol to Bath cycle path as they have a big garden.Check. It. Out!
