Really delicious food, helpful staff, and decent beer. The place is a little echo-y and can therefore be a touch loud, but otherwise a nice atmosphere!

My wife and I went here for dinner last night, having not visited for about 18 months. It has to be said: not much has changed, including the menu! We both choose the fish of the day which was delicious, beautifully cooked and served. Other than that the menu was really uninspiring and needs a refresh. Our meal was accompanied by a bottle of Viognier which was also delicious. Vanilla ice cream for dessert was perfect, some of the best I've had in a while. So, in summary, our food experience here was excellent but the 4 stars reflect the tired menu and the somewhat amateur-hour service. It was lovely (& believe me I do not take a nice meal out for granted) but unless they change the menu and get a little more adventurous with it, we won't be rushing back.

Staff, vary friendly and very polite. Presentation of food 5 stars. We had Gnocchi with wild mushrooms... it was ok, just missing taste, same thing to say for Pork Belly, dry, tasteless with tasteless add-ons. Expensive and I think a little overrated. Deserts (4 different ones) very good and compensate for the whole dinner. Positive experience but for £120+ ... I think you can eat better. Another annoying thing that I do not like, is service charge 10%. Added automatically to bill. For what ? I do not agree with charges like this in general and avoid to eat in places just for that.

Amazing Sunday roast, best we’ve had in Bristol! Reasonable price for the height standard of food and the staff we were so lovely and welcoming!

·

Staff brilliant, friendly. Overall utterly superb experience.Had sirloin roast. Meat was exceptional. Unfortunately only 3 stars as roast potatoes were very poor and gravy was tasteless. Also cauliflower cheese far over cooked. Veg trimmings were nice!Very poor lager selection. Prices were reasonable for style of premises but do not reflect in the quality of food overall.Had horseradish with my beef. Was not what I was expecting! That said, it was very very nice! Mouse like consistency. Homemade? Mixed with a touch of English mustard it was an outstanding compliment to my delicious beef.

We loved our trip to the white horse today! We called ahead as someone in our party has some specific dietary requirements. We were reassured by the lovely Tim that they could sort something tasty for her. When we arrived they offered plenty of detail on ingredients and cooked her up a beautiful adapted meal, not just a normal meal without some elements. She was chuffed and really enjoyed the food. Other food (pork belly and squid) was delicious too. Great and thoughtful service with food to match. Give Tim a raise! Thanks guys

Excellent meal from the small plates menu, really enjoyed it , not cheap at about £120 for two including drinks but worth it

Have dined here twice in recent months. Both occasions we had great attentive service and wonderful food. The interior is warm and welcoming and a lovely place to dine with friends or family. Felt really covid safe and can recommend a visit.

We had a lovely dinner last night. Can't fault anything. Excellent service , very good food and great atmosphere. This was our first dinner out after months and we couldn't choose a better place to go to. Tablets are spaced out so you feel comfortable and safe. There is plenty of hand sanitizer, gloves and masks. We will definitely come back.

This is a gastro type pub that you could so easily walk past. Don't!Run by a family with a clear desire to deliver 'English food with a twist' (their words), it's a clean, modern, semi-rustic place but not done in the large square open space style that some conversions have carried out. Cosy, relaxed feel with exceptionally good, friendly service. The menu offers a good range of dishes and a really good range of starter/sharer/taster dishes with a small range of desserts. A young head chef delivers really good food and the mussels are exceptionally good. All sauces and drizzles tried were wonderfully smooth and full of balanced flavour to match the dish.Any downs? Well, just two. The crab fish cakes could easily have had more flavour and the non-alcoholic beer range needs to be extended beyond the one choice.Don't walk or drive past, give it a try!
