Thought we’d try this this vegetarian takeaway out based on all the good reviews but are really dissapointed. Our first taste was of a sweet sauce. Not really something you would associate with Indian street food. The vegetarian curries had little in the way of fresh vegetables. Mostly small mushy pieces and slightly undercooked beans/lentils. With the mix of curries in one container it all just mushed into one. Would be nicer to separate out the curries. The chapatis were not made in the restaraunt. They are the sort of the ones you buy in supermarkets but resold in this place - big let down. Portions could be more generous so not good value for money. The lady serving who I think is the owner was really nice but the food infortunatelty has failed to live up to the hype of the reviews.

Tiffins was recommended by friends, so on my travels looking at Bristol's street art scene, I gave it a go. The lady owner was soooo nice and obviously proud of what she had created. I'm not a veggie but the range of food on offer, quality and price it didn't matter. The aromas were enough to make you feel hungry and want to try every available dish...didn't attempt every dish, naturally, but it means I will have to go back to try more dishes. Happy days. Great location, parked easily enough across the road. Meter til 5pm on Saturday as a nice to know. Need to know is the artwork inside...commissioned by themselves, its an awesome Nick Walker!! Didn't know this piece existed! Grab great food, sit back and take it all in. Top left hand cornerish Nick has incorporated stencil images of the owners, supplied by themselves! Check out the detail....Tiffins and Nick Walker? Absolute Legends.Met Nick's sister while I was there....added bonus.Fabulous food, great value and choice combined with a warm welcome, throw in a Nick Walker and its the perfect place to experience authentic Gujarati cuisine and a graf icon's work.Enjoy!!

Some of the best food in this awesome city of food. If you haven't taken vegetarian food that seriously I STRONGLY suggest you try this - it will change your view towards healthy and sustainable eating. Tastes incredible too!

My first curry from Tiffins last night and I must say, I enjoyed it very much. The lady owner was very friendly and happy to go through all the food available (that she cooks herself on the premises). The food is cooked without using gee and lots of oils so a much healthier curry is more of a bonus. I will definitely be going back again.

Stop looking, you've found the best indian takeout in Bristol. Really authentic, friendly atmosphere as soon as you step inside. Vegan options are some of the best out there and the customer service goes above and beyond.

Tasty food and the friendliest welcome you'll receive in any takeaway anywhere. Highly recommended. The coriander chutney is worth trying as an extra with your poppadoms!

A fantastic, authentic Take away. The menu is small, but the food and service are excellent. A lot of care and skill has gone into these dishes. £7 for a meat curry, rice and a naan cannot be argued with!

Wonderful and distinctive curry, certainly not your average takeout. The owners are so lovely and friendly they made my 3yr old a special mix of curry for his first curry and it was on the house. Highly recommend.

This was a big disappointment, despite coming with the recommendation of a local. Firstly, the food is over-priced and the quantity is small. We were offered a tin container and I asked whether this wasn't smaller than the plastic ones I saw being used earlier. The owners insisted the plastics weren't being filled to the brim anyway. £15.50 for two containers of curry, one rice and four chapati (oh and some papadoms) is hardly a saving on separate purchases. Anyway, to the food - mediocre at best, probably consisting of a generic base and didn't even taste fresh. We had to heat the food up from scratch and it was only then that we realised it had been offered to us stone cold. We also felt a bit sickly afterwards - didn't know whether it was going to come up or stay down some few hours later - but even if this was a fault of ours in the heating, that should also be a concern of the restaurant in terms of preparation. I felt like asking at the time "was this food cooked today?" but feared to be snapped at. Of course, "we have a different menu every day" is not a reply to that question, since food could have been prepared on a different day and kept in the fridge. There must be loads of fresh, authentic food outlets along the local independent road instead, and we'll certainly be looking elsewhere next time. Nice little earner, that's all.
