We were staying at there sister hotel at the time, no.38 the park and needed somewhere for dinner Sunday.Lots of options seemed to be shut Sunday evening and the hotel mentioned there sister hotels restaurant and bar.Slightly hesitant as service had been mentioned but honestly we had a wonderful time, the food was amazing, service was good, drinks delicious, lovely setting and atmosphere.Next time only need a pudding to share as they are big, hahahah.Would most definitely go again

This hotel is just so perfect! The staff can't do enough for you. We had a small issue with the Bose speaker not working in our first room, and so after doing all she could, one of the members of staff moved us to another room, which was just so pretty! We called it the blue room, room 16. The time and money spent to make these rooms perfect has certainly paid off, and justifies the costs. It was a very reasonable price for what we got. We would like to make a special thanks to the Amercian lady (ever so sorry we didn't catch her name!), Who did all she could to make us feel like royalty. We will definitely be coming back again. Thank you!

Had full English breakfast as a brunch and it was delicious. The waiter was attentive and brought fresh poached eggs when the first batch were rather overcooked. Good coffee. Relaxed venue.

Had drink at Gin & Juice last night and there was quite a vibe going on. It's the first time I've queued at a bar for years...not sure I want to get used to that again. If you're young, trendy and aspirational with deep pockets, this is the place for you.

I booked an afternoon tea for my wife’s 50th birthday.Despite ordering a vegetarian menu at the time of booking they had no record of it and were not concerned. The service was dreadful! I had to request a pot of tea because they had not bothered to bring it with the afternoon tea !It is expensive and the the staff were disinterested. We will not be returning there nor will we recommend it there are plenty of better places to go in Cheltenham.

Afternoon Tea - All Fur coat and no .......?Where do I start?Nyetimber afternoon tea (for 4 people , birthday treat includes glass of champagne). Plates arrived (blue in colour) and one had at least 4 chips out of it plainly visible but still brought to table. I had to ask for replacement. Then 4 glasses of champagne came, one of which obviously at least a third less content than the others. Probably the end of the bottle and someone could not be bothered to open another one? Once again, waitress had to be asked to resolve issue. Mediocre afternoon tea then arrived but no tea or coffee, yet again would not have arrived unless I had not enquired about their whereabouts, from an uninterested man who I can only assume was the bar manager as he was the only one not in a uniform? All in all lots of 'style'? over very little substance, I am sure if you look around, you will find plenty of better venues to spend your money. Left feeling that the £104 cost meant a lot more to me than it did to them? Finally, the 1 star that I was forced to leave to enable this feedback to be accepted was for the setting only.

Front of house was exceptional and welcoming. The rest of the staff in the dining area looked down there noses at you. And any request was frowned upon like how dare you ask for anything special. It ruined our second wedding anniversary. The general location and hotel was excellent but not worth staying due to rude and stuck up staff. I would avoid if you expect good friendly helpful service. For us it was not worth the price tag very disappointed overall.

I have been to Bar 131 numerous times, for both just drinks and for food. I have never been disappointed with the service or the food/drinks. The drinks are a bit on the pricey side, but its such a lovely surrounding and it really does get cosy whilst having some gin!I would definitely recommend the Afternoon tea, very delicious! Only downside is trying to manoeuvre around whilst wearing heels as the toilets are upstairs and the patio is not even!!

Outstanding hotel, our favourite in Cheltenham. Stayed here for a honeymoon weekend a few years ago, and then again last week for a break. Love the decor, staff very friendly, restaurant food amazing and location perfect! Will definitely stay again!

I took my great niece for breakfast at 131 last Sunday. The service was very poor; the fruit plate came quickly but then we waited over 40 minutes for our hot food. I politely asked the waiter how long it would be, it arrived about 5 minutes later. I'm pretty sure they had forgotten about us. No apology for the late arrival was offered. There was no excuse for the poor service as the restaurant was not busy.
