Went for a valentines menu, food and service were excellent, would highly recommend. The railway lamb curry was probably the best one I have ever had. A little gem among all the eateries in Cheltenham and one I will surely return to, after this first experience

Completely different experience from other Indian restaurants. Very attentive and pleasant staff and a good atmosphere. Food is out of this world.

This is a unique restaurant that incorporates Indian and British influences into their dishes. Menu choice is limited, but every dish looks interesting and there is something for all tastes. The food is both well prepared and presented with great attention to detail. Service is highly professional and friendly. The surroundings are tasteful with generous table spacings. Prices are on the high side, but as always, you get what you pay for.

We had a great time! We had the best service we've ever received at East India Cafe. They were very friendly and attentive, we really appreciated the level of service. We had the tasting menu and thought the lamb and duck dishes were very good. The other dishes were ok, but not quite as exciting.

We visited from London and this was, hands down, the best Indian restaurant experience we’ve had in the UK. Firstly the waiters are incredibly polite and helpful, just the right balance of checking in on you and leaving you to enjoy your meal. The food- simply INCREDIBLE. The menu states three courses but honestly you get so much more. The food just didn’t stop coming, everything including amuse-bouches, complimentary refreshment drinks, and palate cleansers, all in addition to the starters, mains, and desserts you choose. And all of which were exceptionally tasty, we couldn’t fault a single thing. They also have a good selection of vegetarian and halal options which was an added bonus. Honestly felt like a Michelin experience and definitely well worth the price. The atmosphere was beautiful: the low lighting and lovely decor lends itself to an enjoyable evening. This place would be great for a date night, a family dinner, or even a work dinner. The bathrooms were also very clean and smelt lovely. Can’t thank the staff enough and cannot wait to come back.

I booked this restaurant in advance of a trip to Cheltenham with my husband for our "mini-moon" as we wanted a special experience and booked in with their 8 course tasting menu. The food was amazing with each course offering different flavours and something that we wouldn't usually cook at home. I didn't take many photos as I wouldn't want to ruin the surprises for anyone else but we would both recommend this place. The dessert was a particular highlight (just when you think you can't eat any more). The staff were fantastic and we were served by 5 different people over the course of the evening and each one of them knew exactly what they were doing and which course we were supposed to be served next. A wonderful evening of indulgence.

We went there about 2 years ago. It was nice but they didn't do a wine pairing with the tasting so it was a little disappointing. The food was good. However there was a slight altercation with the couple at the next table and the chef where he told them to leave. Very entertaining from our side but not very professional.Went for a 'masterclass' today in which they explained how each dish was made and we were able to ask questions throughout. After each course they then served us with what had juts been made.Very interesting and worth trying.

Four of us enjoyed a very nice meal. It's quite pricey and there are not a lot of choices for each course, but there are lots of little extras to enjoy and the service is very good. The only negative was when we came to order dessert one of the options we asked for was not available. The wine menu was ok and reasonably priced. There is parking at the rear.

Very informative staff, exquisite cocktails and fabulous cocktails. I most definitely rate this as one of my favourite food experiences in the UK.Refined Indian food at it's best.

One of the best Indian restaurants in Cheltenham. This place really is a hidden gem. The food here is fantastic and takes Indian cuisine up a level.
