Simpsons Fish and Chips in Cheltenham

Probably the nicest Fish and Chip Shop I have been to. Not cheap but very good quality. Lovely Cod in crispy light batter and good chunky chips.

Excellent cod and chips, cooked to order. Gluten free batter. For £14.50 I think the fish should have been larger and more chips. But excellent quality and service.

I had cod and chips on Sunday. Have to say one of the best I’ve ever tasted. Batter was thin a crispy the fish was well cooked and white all the way through. Tartare sauce and chips were spot on. Definitely returning.

Must have to say best fish and chips, big enough portion to share with my mum because we are small eaters, lush curry sauce we will be back and hopefully have a sit down meal..

Best fish and chips I’ve probably had and I’ve had a lot of fish and chips in my time. Went for the special fish (plaice) and it was excellent. Came with a wee salad and tartare sauce. Superb and can’t wait to visit again. Well worth the 1.5 hr round trip.

Excellent fish and chips. Good family restaurant. Excellent for children too. Good choice on the menu with specials available. I'm looking forward to going back!

Super earthy chips - I appreciate that may just be the time of year however the dripping with grease plaice was unforgivable.Add to that I placed a click and collect at 4pm that was only added to the cook list when I turned up to collect (behind a queue of people who'd just turned up)All in all, very disappointing... Particularly at the price!

Really poor quantity of food. £8 for a large cod which was served cold and no where near big enough to warrant the price tag. Lots of people waiting and complaining of wait times. Waste of money...avoid!

Worst beef burger ever!Given that Simpsons prides itself on award winning fish and chips, you would expect other offerings (outside of this) to be of a similar standard, how wrong can one be!Awful is the word I would associate with the burger and minimal salad i orders and at £8+, it was an abysmal offering and would have received zero if allowed.Word of advice to Simpsons, stick to what you are good at and stop offering food that you quite clearly have no idea how to deliver to a decent standard.4 customers who will not be returning anytime soon.

We had lunch here and had the large cod and the hake. The prices were on the high side (£10+) compared to fish & chips shops in the area but the ambiance and service was good. I liked that they let you have a mix of chips and salad as a side with your fish. They also allow you to have additional refills of chips (unlimited).The hake and large cod were of a similar size. So I'm not sure if it is worth going for the larger size.The fish itself tasted very good and fresh. The batter was crisp and everything was served piping hot. We also tried the curry sauce and gravy. I preferred the curry sauce but that is likely a personal preference.Overall a very good experience but I dropped it 1 star on the basis of higher cost (compared to other local shops) and the large cod portion not being any larger than the regular hake portion.
