The Plough in Cheltenham

We had a family party (the first in a very long while) there last Saturday and we’re made so welcome. We were given a garden room which was perfect for children running in and out to the play area. The food was delicious and the pub and surrounding area lovely. Our dog was also made very welcome. Thank you, we will be back.

I'm probably guilty of not making the best use of the amazing pubs on my doorstep so I suggested to my best friend that we venture to The Plough for supper and wine last night. This place is truly magical. You'll get the warmest welcome and nothing is too much trouble. The fire was lit on arrival and the place is clearly popular as it was nicely busy and had a very friendly vibe.We each had a large glass of Merlot and food wise, because we love to share, opted for some skinny, skin-on fries, along with some hot, gooey, Brie bites served with salad and then toasted ciabatta served with butter and a dish of various olives. Perfect light bites and plenty of it! The food was piping hot and so fresh. Everything is beautifully presented and the staff are just so attentive without being overbearing. We ended up squishing in with some other locals who made us very welcome, so much so that we stayed way past our bed time. It was just the perfect evening. Credit to the staff who are so warm and welcoming. Could not fault a thing. This is how you do genuine, from-the-heart, customer service. The staff should feel very proud!

Took my daughter and her family for a meal. Atmosphere was quaint and homely. They got a good selection of real ales and cider. The menu was limiting with pizza and a couple of pies and a plough man's all food was fresh and well presented. Children's menu was the same as most pubs pasta chicken nugets fish fingers. Sweets were limited we had the chocolate brown'e it was OK. Staff friendly and service was good. Pricing just above average £95 for 4 adult mains 2 children mains 2 sweets 3 /12 pints ale 1 coffee 2 child drinks.

Staying locally for the weekend so stopped here for lunch with my wife and two children (aged 5 and 7). Warm welcome when we arrived. Good menu choices and the Pizza menu looked great too. Good choices for the kids. Food was tasty, great portion sizes, piping hot, came out quickly, service was excellent - professional and friendly. Also gave us a great tip to kill some time before we headed to an evening event we had booked. Really cosy pub and the perfect lunch spot on a cold winters day - especially as the open fire was going and regularly topped up with logs!Wouldn’t hesitate to recommended and if we stay in the area again will visit without a doubt. It was OK, but not great value for money. I had the Wild board and chorizo pie and was disappointed with the flavour combination and the rest of my group of 10 people had a very similar experience. Very nice pub and outdoor eating area in a lovely village and I would go back when they change the menu.

Prestbury is known to be one of the most haunted areas in England. This pub has it's own ghost stories. So we thought we would try it out for our Halloween dinner! It did not disappoint! Great food and atmosphere. :)

Huge improvement ! The Plough has gone from very average to excellent. Excellent seating in the garden with good seating distancing and excellent service. Prices now seem average rather than previous expensive. Well worth a visit on a clement day. Well done.

The Plough is our choice when lunching with family or friends, and has been for a couple of years.We always receive a warm welcome to occupy, by booking ahead, our favourite corner of the Tap Room.The menu is good 'pub food' which, despite choosing a variety of dishes, never disappoints. The prices are perfectly acceptable.The Ham and egg particularly is as good as it gets. The chocolate ice cream "is to die for".Service is friendly and as quick as careful preparation of the food allows. On busy days it takes a little longer but that is to be accepted.
