The Royal Pub and Restaurant in Cheltenham

Excellent pub has a good selection of Beers a suberb resturant serving great food. They have an excellent Sunday lunch menu. It also has a car park & gardens often has live entsrtainment on as well

Firstly the good things.... Food and service were first rate and at very reasonable prices. The person behind the bar couldn't have been more friendly! Only took 20 minutes for the food to arrive. The environment of the pub was very pleasant and also covid safe. What could be improved....? Well from today's experience, nothing really! Thank you for a lovely lunch.

Dog friendly, good range if lunch options but they finish serving at 2.30 so we nearly missed out. Spacious, relatively modern but plenty of comfortable seating.

Had a great experience during our first visit. It's quite a big pun, with outside seating and beer garden in addition to a large indoor are. The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was good value and tasted great. Whilst there was no kids menu, there were a number of options available for smaller versions of adult dishes. Would definitely return.

Fantastic lunch with friends. Very quick service and great selection of food. Also baby friendly and put us on a large table with space for the pushchair. Only problem was the food was quite salty

One of the few pubs in Cheltenham which, in these COVID-blighted times, seems to respect 'normal' licensing hours and doesn't shut early just because they're a bit quiet. Always a good selection of 3 or 4 real ales. Very professional staff who seem to actually enjoy working together and dealing with customers. It's December and they have made the place feel really welcoming and cosy without overdoing the XMAS - subtle light strings and tasteful swags do the job very nicely.

Bistro pub. Nice dishes and friendly staff.

Been a while since my wife and i have been here usually for a meal and this Sunday arranged with friends to meet there for some lunch. As usual service was spot on and the grub first class. Lots of staff around if you needed anything and all very willing to help....what more do you want for a Sunday lunch? We will be back and can recommend to all.

I had the pleasure of attending the Royal pub for a lunch last Sunday, and was so impressed by the superior service, and the amazing roast dinner we enjoyed. All of my guests have all said that they would recommend and will be back with their friends. It is a gem in Cheltenham, a secret indulgence, it’s a must if you visit Cheltenham.The service was second to none, the food we pre-ordered was delivered exactly to our taste, using our names (which was impressive considering 2 of us had Irish names nobody can pronounce, they did). Most of us are international, and even the locals were blown away by the depth of flavour in the gravy, succulent meat and outstanding vegetables. The red cabbage was just unreal.The staff were so welcoming, professional and accommodating, even though some of my 12 guests were a little difficult. I would highly recommend this wonderful restaurant for its atmosphere and outstanding English pub experience. The general manager was fabulous, and has transformed this establishment from a good pub what I think is to one to watch in Cheltenham. Thank you so much for a fantastic day all of us will be back!

We wanted a mid week coffee+lunch venue for family gathering at short notice and this was ideal. The staff couldn't have been nicer. Atmosphere & furnishings were great. Food was between pub and restaurant quality at a sensible price. We appreciated being able to linger at the table and chat. Would recommend.
