Love the place. Food is great, the staff is friendly and very understanding. Awesome burgers and wings! Just didn't enjoy ribs but that's all, definitely would go again and recommend.

First time ever in this place with my partner , they had amy Winehouse playing such a great song , we ordered gin and tonic doubles , I said to the barmaid apologetically " sorry could you take some ice out of the glass before you pour the gin " she did not respond I asked again "could you take some of the ice from the glass ? She then replied what is the magic word ? !!!!! , I was made to feel so un welcome , I know how to use manners and there was no need to ask for the magic word !!! as I'm a paying customer and would have thanked her after she poured the double g and t and also the bar maid did not ask if I wanted ice and assumed I would like a slice of lime which I don't even like !!! Avoid If you want a nice quiet night out !!!

Super slow service with Wetherspoon quality food.First visit since COVID what a disappointment.Minimum staff which resulted in slow service. 30 minutes from table being cleaned to be offering a dessert menu. Hoped for such more given the Lucky Onion brand but this is embarrassing. No issue if that's the level of service & quality they are aiming for with but please price accordingly. Can't blame the staff for the business short comings but a sad and disappointing experience.

Ribs so good I was left questioning my life choices and why I don’t have that level of joy on a daily basis… only negative being my girlfriend ate half, however, lessons learnt, she won’t be coming with me again so I can enjoy the full experience.Waiters were also phenomenal and generally a greater atmosphere with music going into the New Years. Thank you to all your team.

I had really enjoyed a beef burger from the van at Dunkertons brewery so had The Tavern on my list of restaurants to try. The cocktails were good though I found the menu limited. I tried a special of clams in a harissa and bacon broth with coriander. I don't thin this dish works because I couldn't taste the clam and clams are expensive, compared to muscles. The dish was a bit too spicey. The pork meatballs with fennel were great, and the burgers were very good. The atmosphere is buzzy and fun, not a foodie place I would say.

We have enjoyed coming to The Tavern since the day it opened, and through its various reincarnations over the years. Service was good at our latest visit for a Friday lunch, despite it being busy. Good choices available for larger ajd smaller appetites, and some decent beer.

Amazing. Called in because we were looking for craft beer and a snack. Ended up having an amazing meal. Butternut squash and goat's cheese risotto was so delicious. Loved the pine nuts. My husband said the Korean wings were the best he had ever had and the chilli cheese fries were good too. Oh!! and the beer was excellent!! Great service. Good atmosphere. Would definitely recommend!!!

An absolute go to pub in town. Like putting on a comfy pair of shoes, nice shoes !Food is always top draw the wings stand out, done in three different sauces, I would get a potion of each flavour for the table.Relaxed atmosphere. Does a great brunch on weekends also, staff do a great job.Steak is no joke.

Whilst the Tavern is a brilliant pub to visit for a great night out, we also love to book brekkies and lunches here too for scrumptious food. A lovely place to meet friends for a weekend brekkie - pancakes especially are our kids favourite - but all the food is delicious. The lunches are also fantastic and we couldn't fault the meal or the service we had recently. If in a big party, its lovely to book upstairs if you can as it gives you your own private space. Photos attached to show our lovely meals. Highly recommend a visit.
