Where is Ship in Distress?

🏠 66 Stanpit, Christchurch BH23 3NA

"You’ll find the Ship in Distress pub in the historic village of Stanpit in the beautiful borough of Christchurch on Dorset’s south coast. We’re just a few minutes walk from Christchurch Harbour, famous for its fishing, walking and bird watching (Christchurch Harbour Ornithological Group has recored over 320 bird species at the harbour and it’s home to three sailing clubs!). We love our coastal location and our bar pays tribute to this with a fittingly traditional nautical theme! Dogs are welcome and we’ve got a large car park for visitors and plenty of seating space. So, whether you’re a local or in the area for a fleeting visit, come down and experience our classic pub food, drinks and friendly, warm atmosphere."

Absolutely brilliant night at this pub /restaurant. It was st Patrick’s night and it was celebrated in style from the live music and the rock and roll bingo , food was delicious and presented beautifully, and so fresh .

·

Great to see this pub take off again. Friendly staff, beer is kept well, good restaurant and dog friendly. I would have given it 5 except for the huge TVs in your face.

·

Nicely styled nautical pub, with large restaurant and outside area, all clean and fresh. Sensible menu of pub classics and modern. Good prices. Food freshly cooked. We had traditional fish and chips and a vegan thai green curry. Followed by tiramisu.

·

Love this pub. Great beers and wines and friendly service. Also caters for children and dogs...and great outdoor cinema screen in the Summer months.

·

Hadn't been in for a while but as always a warm, friendly welcome. Beautiful meal. Hubby especially happy with the steak pie.

·

Vastly improved. The Ship changed hands midway through the lock downs and the decor has been upgraded. Friendly service, good food and good facilities including an outdoor area with cover for smokers. There is plenty parking and well worth a visit.

·

Very friendly and helpful staff. Good beer and ok food. We had a problem with the kids burger being overcooked and they refunded the cost without question.

·

Our new favourite pub. The food is superb, you may think "oh, it's pub food" but it's so much better than that. The whole ambience is very conducive to good drinking and good eating. Can't recommend this enough.

Very warm welcome from mine host. Sound pint + prawn snack to kick off the partial opening after January lock down. Thanks.
