Anything but standard! We chose this takeaway because of their excellent vegetarian options and were not disappointed! We shared a veg masala between two and ordered lots of different starters and sides. They were all incredible, especially the Aloo Gobi (cauliflower was so tender and delicious). Would absolutely order again, my only wish is that we found this place sooner! Absolutely one of the best Indian takeaways we've had. And excellent value.

Great takeaway food and wil definitely be using them again

Had a takeaway this evening. Half of it missing and what was there, was flavourless, cold and stodgy. Cat food would have tasted better! Ive never been so disappointed in an indian takeaway in my life! Waste of money and effort. I would say to avoid this place at all costs and spend your money somewhere other than here.

Booked here for banquet night special.Booked here for a curry and picked the special Wednesday night banquet offer. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was amazing and very nice from start to finish, my curry was made to the way I like it. The table service was very fast and friendly and each was course was perfect. The service from the owners son was fantastic, he is a very friendly and nice person brilliant service. Would definitely recommend this curry house and will come here again if every down this way again. Thankyou 😁👍

The curry was good especially the fish curry. The only thing to let it down was, and it may have been a bad batch at the time, 11 stale poppadoms. They may have been fresh but not stored correctly after frying. One of the members of staff chased me down to give me my salad when I picked up my order, he must know that I love salad. The iceberg lettuce in the salad had brown at the edges and was not eaten anyway.

Worst curry ever. Chicken Ceylon has been my curry of choice for over 20 years and my mothers day treat was ruined by this place. It was totally inedible with the amount of chilli in it. It tore strips off my throat and after persevering with a quarter of it I had to give up. Taste buds destroyed. Truly unpleasant. As I said, I order the same curry wherever I go and have no ever found it too hot. I've eaten in the restaurant before and had no issues but certainly won't be using them again.

Flavour overload!Haven’t ordered/visited Standard for a while but Father in law said he had a superb Chicken Tikka Dhansak from here the other week (and it’s his sons favourite too) Obviously it’s delivery only. Arrived about an hour after ordering online (which I thought was pretty good during lockdown). Very tasty, piping hot and good value for money. Plenty of meat in the curry’s and the taster starter for 2 was good. Highly recommend

Curry delivery arrived just within stated time. Curry was lovely, but only lukewarm. Rice, naan and onion bhajis were all stone cold. Naan was burnt to black on one side. Such a disappointment....always been spot on. New management, please take note! Will try one last time.

I'm sitting in the standard Bengal writing this review after eating the most brilliant meal. The food was fantastic, the service first class with such friendly staff. Not many diners in the restaurant but then it is a Wednesday night and you'd expect that.We are only in Christchurch for 2 nights but if we were local we would certainly return. A must to try.
