The BaoBao House in Christchurch

If I could give this restaurant a million stars I would! The service was amazing the people are so friendly! The food was out of this world , by far the best takeaway we’ve had in years! Will definitely be revisiting and would encourage anyone to order from here :)

Amazing food, by far the best takeaway we’ve had in years. Locally sourced, good quality meat, no msg, generous size portions, can’t fault anything. Gutted we didn’t find this place earlier!

The food at Bao Bao house is amazing, cooked fresh and generous portion sizes, we will be visiting frequently.

If you're after oriental food that is different to all other Chinese takeaways that all offer the same menu, this is definitely the place for you! Amazing tasting food, very generous portions, great value for money, nothing is over seasoned, no oily overly fried food, and OH MY, the Bao's are to die for! Steamed, podgy buns filled with the most amazing flavours. I strongly recommend the Lotus Bao, providing you have space left over for one! One thing to add, this place is very popular, so allow plenty of time for collection or delivery especially if like me you place a rather large order later into their service times (sorry). Oh and not a piece of plastic packaging in sight - paper bags and recyclable containers. This small thing makes a big difference - lead by example!

Excellent service, wonderful food, really nice people. Can’t recommend enough!! The duck was super crispy, plenty of it and generous portions.

The food was awesome! I had been craving bao buns and decent dumplings. And they managed to cure my cravings :) Sal was super friendly and welcoming. I’ll definitely be back.

Fantastic food, would eat here all the time if I could! Duck hirata buns were outstanding, filled to the brim and delicious. Chicken satay is also wonderful. Fully recommend to anyone looking for a place to eat.

Customer service was beyond bad. Yes, an accident delays an order which we were totally understanding of and then another call some time later to say our food is going to be delivered cold as they can’t redo our order as it was placed through Uber…the mind boggles! Then whilst trying to find a workable solution we had to endure the owner and the member of staff on the phone literally screaming and arguing with each other whilst on the phone. Unacceptable for any customer facing establishment, especially as my friend who was with me said he’d had poor customer service from them previously too!

Amazing place! Absolutely loved the food, (including a chicken chow mien which the owner very kindly made to request!) The Bao buns were delicious. Portion sizes were very generous, and we eat a lot! Can’t wait to go back soon :) - update: still our absolute favourite takeaway in Christchurch, was very excited to go back after lockdown and it didn’t disappoint 😊

While away in Christchurch. We had 2 takeaways from here. You need to go. The food is superb. It was hot extremely tasty and they use local suppliers. Everything that makes a top rated take away. The young lady that served me was very nice. We will be back.
