Really nice pub, the extension has a cabin look effect with a long burner and nice lighting.

·

Absolutely delicious food, brilliant customer service and nice environment! Prices affordable too. We'll return!

·

Amazing food and very friendly staff! Highly recommend the steak fillet and the cauliflower soup, the dinner was absolutely fantastic. Looking forward to visit again.

The atmosphere is beautiful, the service is ok but the food is not good, obviously it's a personal opinion. The beer came warm and the hamburger was terible, which despite being large, was filled with a seasoned sauce that took away all the flavor from the rest.Someone told me the chef has awards, but he doesn't know the basics of a hamburger.

We visited The Smugglers Run in Christchurch for dinner last Friday. The original building is 200 years old and believed to of been part of smuggling route (hence the name)The newly refurbished extension area is much more in keeping with the pubs style.Plenty of booths for group dining inside and seating outside in the warmer weather - we loved the Reggae festival a few weeks ago with live music and a bbq.We ate from the newly developed Autumn menu and thoroughly enjoyed the terrine and pigeon for starters and short ribs that fell off the bone (although quite rich) and our very first taste of Venison this year. We chose a Vanilla Crème Brûlée and Port Roasted plums all washed down with a glass of Malbec and a berry infused gin.The burgers looked great too - maybe next time.

Went to their new open mic night. Poetry and music. The staff were lovely, good beer, good emb... amb... aemb... Atmosphere. Going back for the next one in two weeks.

We hadn't been here before despite it being in our town. We understand it's had a refurbishment and has a new chef and whilst we thought the menu was good it was a bit limited and a little expensive. The food was really good but things like 'new potatoes' need expanding on so the boiled or steamed version that was expected don't turn out to be par boiled then roasted. The staff were attentive but not overbearing and the sight of one of the staff almost running to our table to alert us that one of the dishes that had been delivered wasn't gluten free, knowing one of our group was gluten intolerant, was outstanding. I can see us returning.

We had a exelant meal roast was wonderful. Nice selection of Beers too. The staff are amazing. Could not do any more to make us feel really welcome. Will defiantly be going back.

·

Top quality pub food, reasonably priced, super tasty and amazing service! A very memorable meal as the food was amazing, would go back in a heart beat! Can’t fault anything

Opened in December 2019 under new owner and management and very impressed with the high quality of fresh home made cooking using only British meat, fish and veg using local suppliers.Been twice to the restaurant and enjoyed all our dishes. On our recent visit we had the good value 3 course set lunch menu with Sticky BBQ Chicken wings with garlic & herb mayo and the crispy squid followed by fish & chips and the pulled pork tacos with a harissa mayo & burnt corn salsa. Finished up with the sticky toffee pudding and ice cream.Delicious food and great to come back during the day for snacks and drinks in the bar area. Will come back to try the Sunday roast but make sure you book as the weekend can get busy.
