Alverne in Cornwall

The best food! The best service, cute interior. Everything perfect. I have been to a lot of restaurants over the years and this is by far my favourite place. Will definitely be visiting again. You can tell by the quality of food and flavours and level of customer service that there passion behind the scenes as well as front of house.

Always enjoy visiting the Alverne. Friendly staff and a great variety of food. Will return very soon!!

We had lunch & it was all very delicious the special menu hake, monkfish in a curry sauce with rice & homemade pudding white wine fabulous we will eat there again. The staff was very good no waiting time. Well done.

Really lovely food with high quality ingredients and great presentation. We had great service on a very quiet evening when we were the only customers. My partner and I will happily visit again when we're in the area next.

Excellent 3-course Christmas dinner. Delicious and fresh food cooked to a high standard. We had a large group of several families but everyone (including the children) was happy. Even special requests were catered for so we felt very well looked after. The service was brilliant and we loved the homely atmosphere. Thank you for a special evening!

We came for a late lunch and the place really cozy and comfortable, it's the kind of place I'd like to chill out with friends all afternoon. We ordered the roast plaice from the specials menu and a steak burger. We enjoyed both, especially the fish which was really fresh. Staff were polite and service was good. The place is not cheap though and I don't think I'll be going frequently.

Went to the Alverne for a lovely dinner. It did start off a bit rough with a terrible table that walked out without paying but the staff dealt with it very well considering.After that we got two starters which were both a hit and could not be faulted. Then two of our party had burgers which they remarked where excellent. My wife and I had the mushroom risotto with chicken which was amazing. She remarked it was the best risotto she has ever had and she often orders risottos.Overall a great meal, it wasn't cheap but we got what we paid for and would definatly go back.

Lovely find. Service is friendly and fast. Food is exceptional. Salad was fresh and delicious, hummus was insanely good and my fiancé’s burger was super tasty, cooked to perfection. Can’t fault a thing. Loved it.

£30 steak asked for well done my husband asked for medium mine came out medium rare and my husbands was rare still had a pulse. The staff seemed polite but why ask how you want it cooking if the chef is not going to listen. I sent mine back as I cant eat it when it's covered in blood. And the only tasty item was the mushrooms I even stole my husbands as the steak wasn't the best and it is always in my head what's been done when you send food back. We also had a mixed salad the was onky green leaf. We ordered tomato pasta for our 5 year old and the pasta was still hard.Would not recommend sorry.Just short of £100 meal for 2 adults and a child (no drinks) and totally disappointed.

This was a lovely little family restaurant nestled away in Penzance all the food was delicious, tad bit on the expensive side but worth it for the quality! The only negative I had was the inside of the restaurant was a bit dark and the interior is quite basic and could do with a revamp.
