Excellent as per usual. Food was fantastic.

We had a fantastic stay here, food is very good and we stayed in room 2 which is large with a huge bed. Our companions were not so lucky as all the rooms are individual so if you can ask for room 2.

Clean rooms ,very efficient and friendly staff ,made our stay all the better Can't wait to return hopefully in the near future and the food was excellent

We had a very enjoyable stay here. The rooms are comfortable and the restaurant is excellent.

Excellent hotel. Well managed, with friendly, competent staff. I stayed in a “compact double” room for a six-night walking holiday and then three unintended nights due to the ferry breakdown. Pod bathroom with shower. Desk in room, WiFi works in rooms (occasional outages in Room 16), small TV hung high on the wall, heated towel rack. I appreciated the digital clock-radio and bedside table. Comfortable bed and pillows. Enough electrical plugs, hair dryer, drawers, wardrobe with plenty of hangers, luggage stand, Fair Trade coffee (including decaf), tea, etc. Nice, clean swimming pool. (No shower on pool deck, so rinse off in your room’s shower beforehand.) Breakfasts are good, and dinners are fine dining and high quality. I really appreciated how well they catered for my vegan diet (including a delicious Sunday meal and chocolate mousse dessert). Extra thanks for accommodating our group when the ferry was cancelled! Comfortable lounge too. Stained glass windows by local artist.

Comfortable rooms and the hotel has an excellent dining room, a bar and an indoor pool. Located near the town centre is very convenient for all the shops and pubs.

There are so many things to love about this place! Location: right by the town centre AND the beach! Even so, it's lovely and quiet at night.Lovely rooms AND an indoor swimming pool! There's also a bar AND a lounge.There's even free wifi throughout.Rooms are pricey unless you get a late cancellation like I did...All in all: FANTASTIC!

Classic older hotel, with modern appointments in rooms. Swimming pool, guest lounge small (classic) hotel bar and a good restaurant. Strong WiFi throughout. Very pleasant stay, would recommend.

Having looked forward to staying at this recommended hotel my personal experience was ruined by being allocated Room 21.Thje hotel was superbly located, the food was excellent, the staff were wonderful BUT bewareRoom 21!!!Although the room was spacious, apart from the tiny toilet/ shower unit, it was also adjacent to the front door AND reception desk where every guest arrived and left the hotel past the door AND where everyone seemed to congregate to book in, arrange itineries and socialise. Standing, glowering, at my door in my pyjamas on two occasions met with the desired effect but should not have been necessary.Why didn't you change your room I hear you ask, well, the hotel is quite rightly popular with guests that return year after year and no other room was available.I could easily have awarded 5 star status to the hotel but considered that I would be negligent to other interested parties if I didn't highlight a warning about Room 21, so BEWARE, you have been warned!!!Bruce Thomas
