My duck main was particularly good.Unfortunately the scallops to start, were slightly undercooked - this I can forgive. The knickerbocker glory that I shared with my partner was a disgrace, and contained some 'stale' ice-cream.Anyone that has ever eaten stale ice-cream will be rather sympathetic.Furthermore, the fundamental concern and unforgiveable aspect of the dining experience, was the Palpably abysmal service. The manager 'or' front of house, had a quasi office set-up at one of the tables in the restaurant itself. She sat 'working' to the side of us, during the duration of our meal.We just so happened to be the only diners at the restaurant, and after cooking our courses, the chef came out of the kitchen area and proceeded to pace around the restaurant/bar in an impatient manner, looking at his watch, sighing.Evidently desperate to get home, of which we 'the paying customers' were preventing him from doing so.This was wholly unacceptable, and he should be utterly ashamed of himself.Complete lack of social awareness on his behalf too.I have never eaten at a restaurant where I have been made to feel such a profound inconvenience.Absolutely shocking.

I was impressed. Food was lovely - beautifully presented from a not TOO large menu. (Always a good sign.) Service was excellent too - friendly and attentive. We rarely eat out so this was a real treat and I would look forward to another visit.Well done, Blacks of Chapel Street.10/10🌹🌹🌹

Food was brilliant, customer service not so good more attension needed from staff to make customers feel wanted and serve their needs rather than ignored.Make sure you book a table we had to wait for an hour after the restaurant stopped serving food (say night) to be allowed to order but it was worth the wait. Will definitely come again but I hope the service will be better next time.

Amazing restaurant find in Penzance. We got the seafood platter for 2 from the specials that night. They were actually all sold out by the time of our reservation but one of the managers was super nice and tailor made one from what they had left in the kitchen. The fish and prawns tasted very nice and the scallops in particular were great and perfectly cooked. The food was all fresh. 4/5 stars

A surprise find in arriving in Penzance. The menu looked good, but would the quality match the price? Yes, absolutely! It did! The seafood dishes we took were fresh and packed with flavor. There was also an extensive wine list from which we chose a delightful wine. The staff were pleasant enough. The interior was contemporary but perhaps a little bland. In summary the food was great, the place lacked a vibe (a personal opinion) but overall I would recommend it.

Took an hour before our food came, ordered the seafood platter for 2 at a cost of £60, no where near worth the money, certainly didn't expect to get served oven chips with it! definitely over priced. Would not go again.

Good food but the service could be more professional and suit the kitchen level I end up with order first and main dish that look and taste the same 🙄 Overall good food
