Visited this restaurant on Sunday the 3rd of April. We had our table originally booked at 2pm, however the restaurant called us a couple of hours before our booking to see if we could come in at 1:30pm as they were closing at 3pm. This wasn’t a problem for us, but we didn’t understand why they accepted the booking at 2pm in the first place. The service at the restaurant was very basic, but we were left for 15 minutes before anyone asked us if we’d like a drink. However by this time we were ready to order everything so did so. We waited 20 minutes for food to come out, but I noticed there was a garlic bread on the severs hatch that had been sat there for 10 minutes before the food was brought out. This garlic bread was Infact part of our order and was left to go hard and cold which was disappointing. All of the food came out in dribs and drabs too which was another let down as we were waiting 5 minutes for the food to come out from start to finish and there were only 5 of us. My order was the Cajun chicken tagliatelle and I do have to say the portion was on the smaller side. Granted it was extremely tasty, but once I was finished I was left wanting more. Overall our experience at cafè pasta was alright. It was nothing to be really impressed by due to the slow service, small portions and wait times inbetween the food arriving. It would’ve been nice if the staff looked after us a bit more and checked in to see if were enjoying our time at the restaurant. Don’t think we’ll be rushing back anytime soon.

AVOID! There are better places to eat in St.Ives. This place used to be nice, but my recent visit in March 2022 has totally changed my opinion, and my friends and families. The service upon arrival and throughout was hostile and weak, very little effort. The venue was dirty and not well kept, the tables needed a good clean, and the glasses and cutlery. The toilets were disgraceful. Worse of all was the food. I ordered a lasagne and it came out in a small dish, with one sheet of pasta on the top, when I lifted the one sheet up there was a bowl of meat underneath, no sign of an actual lasagne. The meat was like dog food and it was cold, which was worrying as it was re heated so we sent it back to avoid getting ill. This was very awkward as the staff look like they couldn’t care less, didn’t even let me finish speaking. All the other dishes were equally as poor quality. The place was quiet so locals obviously know how rubbish it is, but tourists may not. Definitely avoid and seek out better quality alternatives places.

Dreadful! I Never feel the need to slate but this was an awful experience! Firstly walked in to order a take away pizza and collect in an hour, our plan was to order at 8pm on a Saturday night have a beer and collect at 9pm. Told by the greeter (after she asked a barmaid) no that’s not possible?? What even if we pay up front? Yeah sorry, you’ll have to come back at 9 and order and then wait while it’s made???? Strange but Ok so we go back at 9 and order. Wait 15-20 mins. The food comes out. Nearly £50 for 3 pizzas which is fine. Carry them back to where we were staying and opened the boxes. The pizza box said 12” Pizza on it but the pizza themselves were no bigger than 8” honestly like a child’s size! I ordered a seafood and it was a joke. Partly covered with cheese and tomato base with 4 prawns and 5 mussels as a topping. I’m sure you could find a better pizza at any average supermarket for a third of the price.Don’t be taken in by the location and the exterior of the building, we will not be going back! Worst pizza I’ve ever had.

Just don't order the duck. Incredibly dry and served with dry lentil "salad" (few leaves). The whole thing was so dry and tasteless I didn't want to finish it. Service was a bit slow but it was busy.

This is a place we always go to when we come down to St Ives as the food has always been delicious. Unfortunately this time the char grilled Halloumi with a heritage tomato salad (only a very small piece of HT) very disappointing in appearance. The other starter the panko prawns looked like they had come out of a freezer bag. To finally finish off our experience my partner had the pan fried Ray wing which should have been a caper shrimp butter but came out with an overload of capers that tasted like they had just come out of a jar. We did raise these issues with the staff who told us it was the lemon in the sauce but the fish was delicious but completely ruined by the sauce. We were offered a complimentary desert which we refused as there was no acknowledgment of the poor quality of these dishes. Really really poor experience.

Great food, great service. I can’t believe we have been coming to St Ives for so long and have never eaten here. Lovely evening.

We have frequented this restaurant many times in the past. It is of course beautifully positioned. I agree with a previous review...the food has been somewhat scaled back with lack of specials. Food was unremarkable and my pet hate is serving wine in a tumbler! The staff were friendly.

Amazing location. Great food! I would recommend their crab linguine and tiramisu. Spicy chicken pizza was also decent.

Starters were good. No wine glasses. Water glasses that we had instead were dirty. Very dirty. Seafood pizza was less than average. Mediterranean pizza's was partially burned. Did not want to argue after bottle of wine left the place. Cannot recomend.

One of the best meal for our UK's western side trip. Every meal is on point especially the scallop dish! Caramari was also very delish with this sweet and sour sauce.Recommend anyone who want a place with tasted meal not just plain local dish out there! The staff are also very friendly and welcomed.
