Chapel-an-Gansblydhen in Cornwall

Not a good experience. In fact probably the worst, and I add, I extremely rarely use the places.Barely anyone in there. Plates a plenty with left over food hanging around the place. Not a good advert for the establishment! Plates piled up on SEATS waiting for collection, or better still knocked into!. Stink of old frying fat. Not to be recommended, certainly never return.

Stopped off for a nice pint. Lovely old building retaining original features.

Went today with 2 familys for a spot of dinner...unfortunately we were unable to stay due to us having our small dog with us. We were not allowed to sit out side with her neither which was a shame. The staff member who explained this us was very polite and friendly and apologised for the inconvenience. Seems its a rule made by Weatherspoons themselves. Makes me wonder how many other customers they have to turn away. We were allowed to finish our drinks and we left. Luckily we found a dog friendly pub just down the road.

Very nice food just like all other Witherspoons very good food and service

Building inside is really nice and well presented. Currently there are also certain seating areas where there are screens up due to COVID which is good if you have any concerns. Staff are great here and the prices of drinks and food is very cheap. They have menus for food and drinks showing a good variety.

Has always been ok when visited over the years but we have just visited on a Saturday lunch time for some food and used the app to order and the experience was poor. Has a real run down feel to it. Hardly anything on the menu, food came out after about 20 minutes (which was fine) but drinks had still not arrived. It really wasn't particularly busy either. Food was brought out with sauces missing as they do not currently have in stock. Steak and pork was cremated that came with the mixed grill. Condiments were extremely low and little to no ketchup available. Pepper was in sachets that were clearly a defective batch as each packet had about 4-6 grains of pepper in. I opened 10 of them to demonstrate to the member of staff who acknowledged and then apologised and that was it. No pepper....Halloumi fries were dry and almost inedible. There was something clearly wrong with the taste of what was coming out with one of the coffees from the dispenser so had to change to something else. Food was cold by the time drinks, sauces, condiments etc was sorted. 2 stars and not 1 because the member of staff we were dealing with was very friendly but clearly appeared like he was struggling for various reasons. With it having been up for sale for quite a period of time it has a real feeling of neglect and we won't be visiting again for food.

Lovely old building, just a same that it's up for let not enough people use it in the winter months, come on people of Bodmin support your local

I've often been to many of Tim Martin's emporiums and in very few instances will the service be consistent.My visit to this one, on this day, was a bad experience. The meal chosen had not been defrosted properly, access to the real ale on the website was not possible, there was nobody to take notice I was not happy with the situation, they place was not very clean and they were not really very busy.I left the meal and my drink.No impressed one bit.

Service was extremely slow, with no warning or apology. We were waiting with our toddler, for over half an hour - luckily he was really well behaved but some prior warning would have been nice! The staff were friendly, but obviously young and inexperienced. The pub itself was ok, but more a locals feel than a friendly family one. Food was ok, standard quality for spoons.
