The best fish I have ever tasted, the cod was chunky, perfectly cooked, unbelievable tasty and the batter so light and crispy. The chips were also outstanding. I’d highly recommend this fish and chip shop to anyone.

Perfect fish and chips. Very tasty crispy batter. Very generous portions served piping hot a cooked to order. Well worth the short wait. Will definitely be back again for more

College Lane Fish and Chips are brilliant tasting food. All cooked to order even including Saveloys. Cod is very good. Portions a decent size. Downside is purely down to waiting time when ordering and cooking. Can be a long wait occasionally. Car parking is limited and car parking is not ideal.But yes I would still highly recommend 👍

If there was a possibility to give 4.5 stars, i would. The batter was nice and crispy, well cooked thick piece of cod, the chips was moist and fresh too, they do gluten and dairy free fish (yey!), and the staff was really helpful.The downsides were that the batter remained quite oily, and the value for money aspect was not the best. We had four pieces of cod, only the 'regular' size fish fits into the GF frier (so had to order two fish portions for myself) but still felt like we paid the usual amount for a portion.So all in all positive experience, but just cannot give 5 stars.

I've had fish and chips here for many years but, a couple of weeks ago, the chips were awful. The fish was cooked fresh but when I got the chips home, you could tell that they were left overs from lunch time! They were barely warm and didn't look very appetising. They certainly tasted horrible. It was so disappointing as mum and I barely have takeaways and we both had been so looking forward to it. Very, very disappointing!

Great chips and nice staff. Didn't have to wait long for our order which was a bonus as it was raining. Best I've tasted in a long while.

Took 20 minutes to receive the order of chips we had. Whilst in the mean time a lady came in and they made up a telephone order with loads of chips in it and gave her priority. If you have a order then please cook more. Will avoid in future as quicker to cook at hime
