Courtyard Tea Rooms in Cornwall

Cosy and friendly place for a traditional cornish tea.

The only reason its one star is because i cannot leave half a star. The positive is the quaint decor and location otherwise unless youre looking to take a picture i would not recommend. While a chocolate muffin was acceptable the scones were served cold and input from locals suggested they were from the day before, they crumbled while trying to spread the jam and tasted of baking soda. The milkshakes were NOT milkshakes they were syrup flavored milk which is NOT a milkshake and I dont care what anyone says i will defend to the death. We had heard great things about "Cornish Cream Teas" and were left sorely disappointed.

NOT recommend it! Very rude service, no gluten free options.... its a shame its a quaint place. Attitude really is everything. The owner spoiled the experience.

This cute little tea room has all the attributes to be fantastic.... but falls short by a long way. It is in a small quiet courtyard just far enough away from the St Ives crowds. The tea room is cute with the usual quaint teapots adorning the walls and ceiling. However... The scones were cheap microwaved scones that left a lot to be desired. All of the crockery and cutlary was dirty, the table was sticky and you share the loo space with an array of mops and buckets.. and nothing to dry your hands with. I hope they make improvements as it has a lot of potential 🤨.It is now two years after my visit and I have just been notified that the courtyard is now under new ownership. We will make sure we revisit the next time we are in the area and hopefully see some great improvements 😁. Found this lovely place in a tiny court yard .the food was good and the staff were very friendly .

I appreciate the time taken.I wish we had seen our options on the menu and received this information from serving staff at the time, when we asked about df options. All the sandwiches had cheese or mayo (can't always be sure it's df mayo).

A lovely gem hidden down a little alleyway. Beautiful pink decorations in the courtyard. Well presented food at a reasonable price!

While in St. Ives my husband and I found this lovely little very quaint tea room. Perfect we thought- all looked perfect for a cream tea. But I'm afraid we were to be disappointed - it's such a shame because the only thing that spoiled it was the scones ( a big factor in a cream tea). They were soft- warmed in the microwave I'm guessing but also not very good quality. We passed many bakeries with beautiful homemade scones in their window so I'm very surprised that the cafe offer such inferior scones.

Visited this lovely cafe every year for the past 5 years and like a good bottle of fine wine improves as time goes on. Owner Chris is a really lovely lady, always has a beautiful smile. We would certainly visit more often if we didn't live so far away. Go and visit and attempt to count the decorative tea pots.
