Very friendly cosy pub, very dog friendly , comfortable rooms. We stayed 2 days in the middle of the storms , we had a power cut at 9.30pm but that didn't stop us enjoying our evening , the open fire was roaring, out came yhe candles and battery lights and the evening continued. Next morning the power was still off so we first expect breakfast but to our amazement water was being boiled and bacon was cooking over the open fire. Top marks fir improvisation, we will definitely be visiting again

The staff are great, really friendly but the roast dinner and other food we all had was not good. And £14 for a roast was totally overpriced.

Lovely cosy pub with big wood fire & conservatory for when sunny. Staff very friendly, sociable & helpful. Meals excellent, best Fish & chips I've had in ages, wife & friend enjoyed their other meals, generous portions, Cheesy Nachos for starter, one was more than enough for two to share, so if you visit make sure you have a good appetite, will be back!

Love this pub/restaurant....I've been coming here since a child so has a lovely nostalgic vibe whenever I go! I had the garlic mushrooms to start and followed by the vegan linguine which was lovely. Such a nice location and the lights look so pretty out in the courtyard and the fire places are just perfect espeically in the winter months. It's dog friendly and theres free parking.Definitely one to try if your passing or local to Plymouth. It's still got an old fashioned charm and the staff are lovely!

We've eaten at The Crooked Inn for their Sunday carvery almost every time we've come to Cornwall. It always had a great atmosphere and friendly staff making it the ideal setting for our family gathering with our dog. This time however, we were shocked to find the food was so not at its usual standard. In fact it was awful. 5 out of 6 of us ordered the beef Sunday Roast. Its now table service and not a carvery but we were more than happy with that. We had quite a long wait before our food arrived and although it generally looked lovely, we noticed immediately there was something wrong with the beef. It appeared very raw but when cutting into it it was almost impossible to cut and so chewy it was inedible. The vegetables were all hard and the potatoes hard and dry. The only enjoyable ingredient on the plate was the mashed swede. We called our server who advised they could cook the beef more and took our plates away. After another wait our plates were returned to us. Normally food would be replated but not here. We were all given a plate, which was not our own, however we were unable to identify who's plate was who's. I should give negative points for this glaring error. The beef was still inedible, just browner. We will be avoiding in the future.
