Del Mar in Cornwall

Amazing authentic Italian cuisine. A hidden gem. Starters were fantastic but the mains were amazing. Half way through I was full but I had to finish my meal. Best place to eat in Perranporth

Walked up in the evening when it was fairly slow but were treated like an inconvenience from the get go. Sat outside because inside is apparently reservations only, which was fine, and ordered drinks. Asked for water with ice but received warm water. Asked for ice and was told it had ice in it when it clearly didnt. We didn't even order food in the end because of the extremely rude staff who refused to accomodate a basic dietary restriction. Eat literally anywhere else if you can.In reponse to the owner, your reply is laughable. I've been to Perranporth all my life and own a house up Liskey Hill. You gave my 5 visitors from America a horrible first impression of Cornwall. You're a disgrace to the community with your dishonesty and should own up to your lack of service and make improvements instead of trying to lie your honest reviews away. Added a picture of our reciept which we took to prove we paid for the drinks in case you pulled something like your other replies. If you want proof it's at del mar go and look at their outdoor tables.

Visited from America and this was the ONLY terrible experience I had. Made my family feel extremely unwelcome for not having a reservation (when it was clearly a slow evening) and for not accommodating basic dietary needs (that other restaurants happily do). Do yourself a favor and walk over to The Green Parrot right next door- better customer service, quality food, and great prices (all of which Del Mar does NOT have)!

I and friends decide try this small quiet place for dinner. Menu was looking so great and promising. Guy who serve us was not really listen what we order. Looks like write everything. Drinks was mixed. I really wanted the gorgeous bread with olive and olive oil. But got just bread and butter. Food arrive separately. So ones people eating and onother one was waiting. I really disappointed of serving.Food delicious but for serving I don't back ever again.

Food was tasty but service appalling. Wasn't overly busy but we waited a long time to get both drink and food orders taken. The main thing was the rude service. When my main arrived and I had no cutlery the lady serving replied "Yeah I know". When my husband said he was a little cross about how long we'd been say waiting for a drinks order to be taken even after trying to order at the bar, the waiter said "we have other customers". We eventually had our main order taken by what appeared to be the chef straight from the kitchen. It was like faulty towers with all the staff running round and nobody knowing what was happening. We only stayed because the starters were good. Wouldn't return or recommend though.

Went with family in August 2021. Very disappointing and traumatic. Discreetly told the staff that my salmon was still frozen, the potatoes were also and tasted of the consistency of a processed roasted potato. They offered to replace my meal admittedly, however I declined as it was frozen and I was totally put off from what I thought would be an authentic eatery. Just as everyone had nearly finished I was handed and plate of food and told to eat the food as they said we were going to leave without paying. I was very offended. I had never said I wouldn’t pay but I wanted the meals removed from what we didn’t eat......it was then the whole kitchen staff came out! Totally humiliated! We did pay! It was the most expensive frozen food I have ever eaten!!!! !!!!!!!! In response to your reply! The food was frozen and you said that no one has fresh food in the summer!!!!! It was frozen fish and you apologized. I never said I wouldn’t pay! It was one meal to be deducted!!!!Show less

I live in Australia and contacted Senora Grande to make a reservation for my Aunt and Uncle, who live in Cornwall, to celebrate their Golden Wedding Anniversary. It went off without a hitch. They had a great time, the food was beautiful, the service was brilliant and Senora Grande made sure their night was special. Can't wait until I can visit Cornwall and have a meal at The Del Mar..

Wow what can I say! The pizzas and calzones are amazing. This is one of my must go to places every single time I come to Perranporth. Every single time I come here I say this is the best pizza I've ever had & let's put it this way I'm obsessed with pizza so that's a proper compliment coming from me lol. The portion sizes on the pizzas etc are really good as well. I will keep coming back here year after year!Edit: we came back twice during our stay here & the amazing food standards are still being met. They are always packed so I'd recommend booking in advance. We will definitely continue to return every single year that we come back to Perranporth. Keep up the amazing work guys, still the best ever pizza I've ever had.
