Unfortunately we did not have a good visit last week. There was no atmosphere, it was cold, the table was too small for the area and amount of chairs, the sandwiches were awful - very thin bread, one of them had a small patch of mould on the bread and wasn't filled very well and absolutely not worth £7! Chips were soggy too. We will not be returning

Excellent Sunday roast. Great traditional pub with a first class beer garden. Excellent range of beer and ales. Will certainly be returning

A warm welcome, Found a cosy corner by the log burner. Firstly ordered coffees and a tea, then ordered up meals. £15 for two. Lovely jubbly. Meals were good helpings and lovely. Great outdoor seating as well with heaters. Recommended.

First time here, had heard good things, not overly welcoming when entered, food was ok, service pretty good though for food.

Came for lunch and have got to say that it was nice to actually get a steak and ale pie that actually had steak in it. The Cujun chicken was lovely, not over spiced and nice to get some proper chips too. Staff were great and the prices are very budget friendly. The coffee was the best we've had so far on our little holiday. We owe a big thank you to the workman in the street who told us about this little gem

Relaxed, welcoming atmosphere. Friendly, enthusiastic & efficient staff. Great beer & veggie-friendly menu. They have it all just right. What a lovely treat on a Friday night.

Dropped in on a Sunday for early dinner and weren't disappointed. They only serve Sunday roasts but we were happy with that, my wife had beef whilst I had nut roast, which were served with Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes, broccoli, cabbage, carrots, stuffing and cauliflower with cheese. Everything was very tasty and all for £9 each, bargain!!! A cosy pub, car park round the back and a nice covered outside seating, pity it's not nearer home, we'd be in every Sunday

My husband and I are on holiday here and went into the Earl of Chatham for a drink and had such a lovely couple of chilled hours. The log fire was on, (can you believe it in May!!) Which made the pub so warm and welcoming on this rather dreary, rainy day. My husband enjoyed his couple of pints and staff were very friendly. Didn't eat there but food looked good.
