Fortune House in Cornwall

Ordered on a Monday as it states it's open. Took our order and money online, but no meal came. Apparently they are closed on Mondays and to ask for a refund through PayPal. Still no refund 2 weeks later. They do not care. Disgusting service.

Under new management. New chef is great. Excellent food, good delivery service.

I'm not quite sure what the fuss is about, this is quite literally the best Chinese take away I've frequented. The zero score food hygiene rating just adds to the ambience of the meal. You should not hesitate to try this establishment, you'll not be sorry for long , yes siree.

We've been holidaying in St Austell for years, coming down from Buckshaw. Fortune House has been a firm family favourite. I don't care what the hygiene inspectors say, I've never had so much as an aggressive burp after eating here, let alone ecoli or whatnot. Raw chicken left on the floor, they said! Well, the sweet and sour chicken balls were outstanding: long live the floor marinade method I say. We'll be back next year

This place has a food hygiene rating of zero which says it all..The food is terrible and nothing like what a Chinese should taste or look like yet they keep getting away with it - Avoid at all costs and try Manfoon house, That will set the benchmark and make you realise just how poor this place actually is.

I've had 4 deliveries from here, i really dont understand all the negative comments, the food is amazing. Maybe they just dont like Chinese food lol

Worst Chinese food I think I have ever had, was told there isn't prawns included in a certain dish my partner had, but prawns were in there when we got it home, tried ringing to complain but no one answered, plus there was hardly any meat compared to when she had that dish from other places, and mine was greasy as hell, I had indigestion and I never suffer that. I can only assume it recently changed ownership as it used to be nice pre covid. Spent £20 on a pile of rubbish, Won't be going there again!

Enjoy the food every time but delivery takes far to long and can never call to get hold of them. Delivery can easily be 1 hour late which is not acceptable

We ordered through a takeaway app, the food arrived on time and the delivery driver was lovely. The food was delicious, very hot, tasted fresh and the portion sizes were huge. This is the 3rd meal we have had from here and they have all been consistently good, very happy

Really disappointed. Ordered for delivery online on the evening of the Thursday 4/2/21. I ordered the set menu for 2 at £30. The email said it would arrive at 7.40pm but it actually arrived just after 7pm, so 10/10 for the efficiency of the delivery. However the standard of the food left alot to be desired. The duck was delicious as always. The BBQ ribs barely had any meat on it, the sauce for the chicken Satay tasted wierd had an aftertaste of peanut butter. Just wrong. The battered garlic prawns just tasted way too salty, and the wonton with the chicken and curry sauce, the sauce tasted off. I've been using fortune house alot until now and it has been good, but this one was a massive let down. Wont be coming back I'm afraid.
