Gilletts chippy in Cornwall

Just been here to get some dinner. Very expensive for what you get. £3.95 for large chips. You literally get enough for 1 person. Food was good though

What a great little cafe and so unexpected being attached to a fish and chip shop! My wife had the extensive salads (prawn one time and ham another) and I had delicious sandwiches and home made soup. I just hope the locals realise what a lovely cafe they have compared to most and use this wonderful establishment. Unfortunately we don't live in the area or we would use it all the time! Well done to a lovely team of talented staff and thank you.

We have visited this lovely little cafe a couple of times recently when staying in Bude. The Salads are fantastic and well thought out. I lost count of the different ingredients in the salad. (I have had salads served out at some of the large chain restaurants which consisted of only green leaves!) My husband had the home made soup which was very very nice. It had the option to add cream if desired. For a fish and chip shop, we were very pleasantly surprised. I just hope the locals know what a jewel they have in their midst! If we didn't have to watch our sugar intake we would have tried the lovely chocolate covered cakes too!

Staying in Woolley for the week from South Yorkshire. Called at Gillets for fish and chips - they were absolutely fantastic, cooked to perfection and the cod was chunky and White. Went down well with a bottle of wine.

Nice fresh fish. Crispy batter, not greasy. Fresh chips. Meal ready asap. Just right for a speedy supper. Recommend!

Freshly cooked food. Decent quality, not overly greasy or oily. You get a good portion size for the price. Staff were friendly and engaging. The place looked clean and well presented. Definitely worth trying for a fish and chip supper.

First person through the door met by a lovely lady who served me she was by herself and wasn’t sure whether her colleague was going to join her because of ill health - fish and chips with curry sauce was hot fresh and went down well

Will say that the food is pretty decent, had to wait an hour for it to be ready for collection, but that was fine. It was over a 10 min drive, got home and they missed out 2 large portions of chips from our order! Now only had 2 regular portions to feed 7 of us, so phoned up and they said they will get them ready for us to come collect again. Get there to find that our chips are not ready, no apology or acknowledgment from them and the employees bickering amongst themselves. Not great really.

Good fish completely ruined by Rock hard fat drenched batter and a tiny squashed dry gherkin..how is it possible? If your local and need food fine but don't go out of your way to eat here, won't be going back, such a shame they don't know how to cook fish
