Beautiful bar and coffee. Cheap nights stay. Good pool table and selection at the stunning modern bar. Bloody good platter!!!

·

Nice pub. Good location overlooking the beach and out towards Towan Head. St. Austell's Brewery ales and lager, and typical pub food fayre. Drinks a bit on the pricey side, but where isn't these days!

Stayed in a standard double doggy room, it was a lovely size room and included dog beds/bowls and a dog goody bag( Pooh bags, tennis ball and treats) the bed was actually 2 singles pushed together so was a fantastic size. We arrived at night so it wasn’t until I opened the curtains in the morning and saw the most fantastic view! Book your parking before arriving at £5 a night. We didn’t book breakfast but you can pay in the morning when you order and dogs are allowed on the hard floor. Staff were friendly and helpful, you get a bit of street noise even in the back rooms but you are in the centre of Newquay so is to be expected. I would definitely visit again(we visited in March).

Lovely hotel with fantastic views across the local beaches and harbour.

You get what you pay for! For £40, it was a good hotel, friendly staff. However you can hear every single footstep taken across the hotel, floorboards are super squeaky! Small rooms but ideal for one night but was kept awake most of the night by the towel rail light (super bright), talking in the corridor/upstairs, or the floor boards. Can call to reserve a parking spot for £5 which is handy! Recommend the restaurant, best mussels I’ve ever had!

Lovely few days staying at the Great Western Hotel, very good deal and the staff were very friendly especially the receptionist. Lovely breakfast with a beautiful view. The only reason for 1 missing star is the the window latches were covered in mould and gunk but apart from that, great stay we'll be back.

Really lovely mid week lunch. Pub/restaurant overlooks the beach. Food was typical pub fayre and reasonably priced. But it's Newquay and so always a couple of 'hardcore drinkers' with no consideration or awareness of others; on this occasion, humming and singing/loud commentary with no purpose outside of being annoying. But that's Newquay and that's what you get be warned and you won't be disappointed! But it mars the experience and so 3 stars.

Although the stairway was a little tired-looking, the room was lovely and clean, and bright & airy. I booked a twin room but it actually had a double bed and a single bed so it was quite spacious. We booked a non-sea view and was facing the road, which was fine as we knew we would be treated to the spectacular view of the beach during breakfast (which was delicious). Make sure you reserve a car parking space, if you need it (easier during winter months, no doubt), as the car park is quite small (about 10 spaces, possibly?).We would definitely return to the Great Western if going to Newquay again.

Stayed here for one night (mainly came for pasties on maxi- scooter)But to far to get back home in one day.. I had a double room which backed onto the seaAnd boy what a view room was nice too nothing wrong much unless you require luxury but my room was very tidy and spacious enough for two people on my own it was ample.Shower curtain needs replacing but that's minor.Breakfast was yum yum smashing tasty mushrooms, tomatoes and beans and eggs there must be something in the air or soil as cornwall produce tastes loverly I wish I could of had more tomatoes n egg n mushrooms they were that niceThe own brewery stout is very nice I will be back next year and hoping stout is still on tap.Parking is tight but an overflow 2mins walk away my maxi scooter parked up nicely free.

I had a lovely stay here, my stars are base on the wonderful friendly staff. The hotel very close to the beach. Great views near by. The room that I stayed was a little warm, so they kindly got me a fan. If you looking for quite stay the room was a little noisy but nothing to complain about. I forgot my favourite earrings there and they safely kept them and got them back to me. I also found out it is one of the oldest hotel in Newquay.
